In Mont Verra, thoughtful design across spacious elevated living creates a perfect environment for family connection and personal wellbeing to flourish

In a bustling, high-density city like Hong Kong, family luxury lies not merely in square footage but in design that nurtures both togetherness and individual needs. In the penthouse at Mont Verra, in Beacon Hill, Jessica Jann has found a spacious sanctuary where every space, from the expansive living areas to the intimate master suite, allows for both family connection and private retreat.

The penthouse’s architectural sophistication begins with its duplex layout, featuring several en-suite bedrooms and a living room crowned by distinctive double-height ceilings. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic views of Hong Kong and Kowloon while curved design elements and translucent glass partitions create a natural flow throughout the public areas. For Jann, whose family life centres around collective experiences, these interconnected spaces provide the perfect setting for daily rituals.

“The perfect home for my family and me is one where we feel comfortable, safe and warm,” Jann says. The philosophy at Mont Verra is to create spaces where gathering comes naturally—from the dining area anchored by an elegant stone counter island to the generous living room that could host everything from not only elegant soirées with friends, of course, but also—and more importantly—bedtime stories and impromptu theatrical performances.

The penthouse is attuned to the rhythms of Jann’s family life. Her days revolve around moments with her children, whether that’s story time with Didi and arts and crafts with Kylie in the cosy bedrooms or animated play sessions in a living room, where a long sofa becomes a stage for everything from sword fights to renditions of Let It Go.

Beyond the living areas, the personal domains are further reflections of sophistication. The master suite, with its gigantic walk-in closet which transforms the daily act of dressing into something close to ceremony. Jann is particularly taken with these, as they evoke childhood memories of exploring her parents’ wardrobes. With their floor-length mirrors and dedicated accessory spaces, time spent in one of these sartorial sanctuaries is a daily highlight.

When the pressures of the day lead to a need for respite, the master bathroom offers a private haven, its steam room and sauna serving as essential tools for restoration. Such easy access to these luxuries simplify the prioritisation of self-care—something often lost to the demands of parenting and a busy professional schedule.

The crown jewel in the Mont Verra penthouse is the rooftop terrace; for Jann, it provides both playground and retreat: a space where Didi’s can explore his fascination with aeroplanes and birds in real life, and where Kylie can take her performances to another level. Early family dinners take place against the sunset, yoga sessions reap the benefits of direct natural light and the simple act of reading becomes, in the fresh air, an indulgence. “When you are out in nature, getting some vitamin D, you do feel better,” Jann reflects, recognising how outdoor access enriches both mental health and family life.

In Hong Kong’s dense urban environment, Mont Verra’s penthouse and other apartments offer something increasingly rare: the freedom to choose between togetherness and solitude, activity and rest—all within one elevated oasis. For families seeking this balance of connection and personal space, it represents the ultimate in thoughtfully conceived luxury living.
