Tatler and Scavolini Manila organised an exclusive celebration for the reopening of Scavolini's newly renovated showroom

Any discerning homeowner knows this beyond doubt: the kitchen is the beating heart of the abode. Perfecting this idea is Scavolini Manila, which recently opened its newly renovated showroom designed and curated by Budji+Royal.

"The showroom is wider and more spacious to further appreciate the beauty of the kitchens and envision them better in your own homes," revealed Brian Hontiveros, general manager of Modularity Home, the exclusive distributor of the beloved Italian kitchen brand in the Philippines. The refreshed showroom now features new Scavolini collections: Diesel Open Workshop by Diesel Living, Carattere, Boxlife by Rainlight Studio and MIA by Chef Carlo Cracco.

To celebrate this milestone, Tatler and Scavolini Manila hosted an intimate soiree at the Scavolini store in The Peninsula Manila last October 24. Titled “The Social Kitchen: Entertaining Where It Matters,” chef-entrepreneur Marco Rodriguez and designer Rosanna Ocampo Rodriguez shared entertaining and cooking tips.

“Storage is very important,” quipped Marco, chef and owner of Xàncho. “Everything needs to look clean. It inspires you to cook better dishes, being in the right set up.”

Rosanna added, “It’s important to invest in the kitchen accessories; while [my husband’s] outlet is food, mine is expressing my creativity through colour.” The designer also shared some pieces of advice on organising successful house parties: “I want all the guests to come home buzzed and happy–the drinks are as crucial as the music. It all has to flow.”

Guests enjoyed food by The Peninsula Manila and free-flowing bubbly and red wine from Tatler while listening to the enjoyable and informative talk from the lovely couple.

Scavolini is all about flexibility, which is an important factor in choosing a kitchen model. "Through the expertise of our team, we are able to configure each person's kitchen to his/her preferences," said Hontiveros. "For example, if a client aims to really entertain in the kitchen, we can recommend [having] a giant island to accommodate cooking in the area with extra seating space so the guests can talk while watching you cook; if the client wants to display their special China collection, we can provide pristine glass cabinets with interior lighting to showcase these."

He also suggested having the kitchen open up to the living room so that the space becomes multipurpose and yet cohesive at the same time.

"We will continue to provide synergized life spaces matched with our exceptional service so families can enjoy a timeless experience of function and beauty in their home," concluded Hontiveros.
