The awards are a recognition of Summerhaus D’zign’s industry expertise and reassures clients that they are consistent in delivering exceptional results.
In the world of interior design, the quest for international acclaim hinges on a subtle interplay of innovation, creativity, functionality, attention to detail and a keen understanding of user experience. For a project to win awards, its design must not only impress the judging panel but also serve its intended purpose effectively.
Summerhaus D’zign, founded by Larry Lim and Jess Koh in 2012, is a Singapore firm that has been chalking up recognition from the International Property Awards, a prestigious body that hands out prizes to exceptional real estate projects around the world.
The Grange, a luxury apartment in Orchard Boulevard, received the Residential Interior Apartment Singapore award for 2023. In the same year, Stratton, a landed property in Yio Chu Kang, picked up the Residential Interior Private Residence Singapore award.

Buoyed by their success, Lim revealed that the firm has submitted another project, Arcadia, a condominium in Bukit Timah, for two categories, Residential Interior Apartment and Bathroom Design, in the 2024 awards.
Here’s a closer look at Summerhaus D’zign’s award-winning schemes, and why they’re deserving of the accolades.
The Grange
In this penthouse apartment defined by a generous open plan and blessed by ample natural light and panoramic views, the design team was keen to maintain a sense of airiness. Fixtures were designed to flow with the space, while neutral tones and skeletal forms were used to enhance the sensation of openness.
With the white walls acting as a blank canvas, the team sought to add layers of interest and texture through the furniture and soft furnishings. And while colourful, oversized paintings lent vibrancy to the space, care was taken to ensure a harmonious balance of hues such that no single colour would dominate.
Stratton
When tasked to remodel the interiors of this 30-year-old house, the design team responded by removing some non-structural walls to create a more spacious and streamlined living/dining area. They also updated all of the interior finishes to give the space a sleek look with luxurious accents, using book-matched marble and dark walnut tones to achieve their aim.
Providing further definition to the space, all built-ins were deliberately aligned along a single axis and a formerly odd-shaped kitchen was rationalised to become a dry kitchen with an island counter. A guest room was carved out in the process, adding extra functionality.
Arcadia
In this 40-year-old apartment filled with a hodgepodge of furniture, colourful artworks and collected artefacts, Summerhaus D’zign was given a brief to refresh the space. In response, the design team kept the overall palette as neutral as possible, employing a white base and pale wood veneers for the built-ins. This strategy allowed the different textures, colours and patterns to harmonise.
The master bathroom is a statement in itself, an homage to the glamour of the Art Deco period. It’s housed in a glassed-in enclosure with curved corners and a geometric metal framework. The vanity mirror continues this theme with linear motifs, while the mosaic wall tiles are set in a diamond pattern to heighten the glitz.
