Small details make all the difference. Aiden T, Create Architecture, and Quarters Architects share how the Unica X range’s refined finishes, tactile fittings, and craftsmanship transform daily touchpoints into understated moments of luxury
In the world of luxury interiors, true refinement often lies in the smallest details. A home may boast soaring ceilings, bespoke furniture and panoramic windows, but the quiet touchpoints play an equally vital role in shaping how a space feels. The reassuring weight of a brass door handle, the warmth of timber flooring beneath bare feet or the satisfying click of a well-crafted light switch: these subtle yet powerful elements stitch together the lived experience of a home, transforming the everyday into something quietly luxurious.
This is the philosophy behind Schneider Electric’s Unica X range. Drawing on over 180 years of innovation, Schneider Electric has created a series of electrical fittings that marries sleek, contemporary aesthetics with advanced functionality. With its clean lines, customisable finishes, and tactile quality, the Unica X range transforms everyday interactions, such as turning on a light, into moments of understated luxury.
Above Watch: How Aiden T, Create Architecture and Quarters Architects explore the power of quiet touchpoints with Unica X
To explore how thoughtful design details can elevate a home, Tatler Homes spoke with three leading Singapore interior and architectural firms—Aiden T, Create Architecture, Quarters Architects—each of whom integrates Schneider Electric’s solutions into their projects. Their insights reveal not only how technology and aesthetics can coexist, but also how subtle details can transform daily life.

Aiden T: Meaningfully detailed
For Arjan Nijen Twilhaar, principal designer at Aiden T, luxury is not measured in grandeur but in meaning. His studio’s guiding principle, “Meaningfully Detailed,” speaks to a design ethos that values not only aesthetics but also how a space makes you feel every day. “A well-designed home should make you feel genuinely good,” he explains. “Every element we include is chosen with care, because even the smallest detail contributes to how a space feels and functions.”
This holistic approach is evident in Aiden T’s recent project on Goodman Road–a new-build home that allowed the team to shape every aspect from the ground up. Twilhaar personally designed the façades and floorplans before bringing in architects and engineers, ensuring that the interior vision drove the project from the very beginning. The brief, inspired by the client’s years in London, called for the quiet elegance of Georgian townhouses reinterpreted for tropical living. To capture this, Twilhaar immersed himself in Kensington and Mayfair, translating that rooted elegance into softened Georgian proportions, an enfilade layout, and interiors that balance rhythm, formality and modern sensibility.
For Twilhaar, what makes a home truly luxurious are not only its visual statements but its tactile and sensory moments. “True luxury goes beyond how a space looks—it’s also about how it feels,” he emphasises. “The weight of a metal switch, the precise click it makes, the temperature of a surface beneath your fingers—these details shape your everyday experience of a home, even if you don’t consciously notice them.”

Above Aiden T often references traditional design through a contemporary lens, blending heirloom quality with modern practicality. The Unica X range allows Twilhaar to move fluidly between eras while staying rooted in the present
It is here that Schneider Electric’s Unica X range proves invaluable. With a stainless steel finish that come in colours such as antique brass, dark bronze, jet black, and dark grey, the range allows designers to integrate fittings seamlessly into interiors, whether classical, contemporary, or minimalist. “For me, it’s all about the tactile quality. Unica X offers materials in just the right colours and finishes, so these small but important touchpoints don’t distract from the overall vision. Instead, they enhance it,” says Twilhaar.
Flexibility is another key factor. Aiden T often references traditional design through a contemporary lens, blending heirloom quality with modern practicality. “Many of our clients want originality, something deeply personal that isn’t cookie-cutter,” he notes. Schneider Electric’s range supports that balance, giving us the freedom to move fluidly between eras while staying rooted in the present.”

Beyond design, Twilhaar sees Schneider Electric as a partner in his studio’s commitment to excellence. “Our projects are only as strong as the collaborators we work with. When we align with partners like Schneider Electric, who share our focus on quality, design, and innovation, it reinforces the standard we promise our clients.”
In the end, the philosophy of being “meaningfully detailed” finds a natural ally in Unica X. By turning everyday touchpoints into refined moments of interaction, Schneider Electric helps Aiden T craft homes that are not only beautiful, but also deeply resonant with the lives of the people who inhabit them. “It’s often the smallest details that elevate a space,” Twilhaar reflects. “When those touch points are thoughtfully designed and beautifully made, the entire experience of the home is uplifted.”

Creating balance at Create Architecture
For Tan Bing Hui and Xu Naiyan, every project begins with the pursuit of balance; “Balancing the demands of aesthetics with the owner’s design brief, contextual sensitivity, sustainability, and state-of-the-art technology.” In 2017, the duo founded Create Architecture with this very ethos at its core, establishing a multidisciplinary practice that today spans master planning, architecture, interiors and branding across Asia.
The studio approaches each commission as an opportunity to craft something deeply personal yet contextually grounded. Such was the case for their Hilltop House project, a multi-generational sanctuary where public and private zones were carefully delineated to maximise both connection and privacy. A lightened palette, soaring double-height spaces and strategically placed skylights ensure the interiors feel open, airy and bathed in natural light throughout the day.
What sets Hilltop House apart, however, is not simply its architecture but its translation of the owners’ aspirations into a lived experience. “Personalisation is meaningful to us. No two homes are the same, and every detail is crafted to align with our clients’ aspirations,” explains Tan. This attention extends beyond grand gestures to the smallest components. Attention to detail, Tan and Xu emphasise, is what defines true luxury—whether it’s the flow of spaces or the tactile quality of everyday fittings. “Electrical fittings play a crucial role in this, both in appearance and in the way people interact with them daily,” adds Xu.

With its sleek, modern aesthetic in various colours, Schneider Electric’s Unica X allows Create Architecture to ensure even the most utilitarian elements integrate seamlessly into luxury interiors. “High-end design is about creating a cohesive, seamless experience. Collaborating with Schneider Electric ensures that even the smallest components—like light switches and outlets—fit within the aesthetic we’re creating,” says Tan and Xu. “That consistency is critical to crafting spaces that feel polished and intentional.”
Beyond the products themselves, Tan and Xu point to Schneider Electric’s depth of expertise and reliability. “The product support given by the Singapore Schneider team is reliable, with intuitive, innovative solutions and constant updates on new offerings,” they share. They also highlight the brand’s enduring legacy. With over 180 years of technological evolution and a strong emphasis on innovation, Schneider Electric has set itself apart as the leading solution provider for electrical fittings and smart systems.
For Create Architecture, balance is not just about design harmony—it’s about ensuring every element, no matter how subtle, resonates with the same sense of thoughtfulness. And with Unica X, they are able to uphold that commitment.

Quarters Architects: Coherence in simplicity
Step into a home designed by Quarters Architects and you’ll notice an immediate sense of calm. Spaces feel measured, intentional, and quietly elegant—never cluttered or overworked. This pursuit of clarity and coherence defines the work of partners Felicia Toh and Kenneth Koh, who believe that true luxury lies in restraint. “Clients with a discerning eye know that spaces that feel luxurious and timeless tend to be restrained,” they explain. “Often, it’s about refining and reducing, rather than adding more.”
This ethos—thoughtfully curated rather than overdesigned—guides their approach to every commission. Instead of imposing a fixed style, Quarters begins by listening: Who are the clients? What are their patterns of living? What emotions or experiences should a space evoke? In doing so, they create immersive environments that are conceptually strong and uniquely tailored, rather than bound to stylistic themes.
Their Shelford Project, also known as the Arc Volumes House, encapsulates this perfectly. Conceived during the Covid-19 era, the homeowners wanted a residence that brought them closer to nature, with every room enjoying views of greenery. To achieve this, Quarters designed façades and interiors that integrated curvilinear planters into the architecture itself, softened by a lattice of walnut-toned sun-shading fins.

Above For Toh and Koh, the smallest, well-crafted details are what elevate a project from well-designed to timeless
For Quarters, the success of such a home lies not only in its larger gestures but also in its tactile details. Everyday touchpoints—flooring underfoot, the curve of a door handle, or the click of a switch—shape how a space is experienced. “Switches are a necessity, but they don’t have to look utilitarian,” Koh notes. “The refined detailing of Schneider Electric’s products adds an element of luxury to daily life.”
This is where Schneider Electric’s Unica X range proved to be a natural fit. With its minimalist frames and soft, rounded corners, the series mirrored the architectural language of the Vessel House, another Quarters project defined by simple volumes and softened edges. Available in complementary tones such as matte black and bronze, the Unica X switches integrated seamlessly with the natural walnut and stone palette, maintaining visual coherence throughout the home.
For Toh and Koh, such details are what elevate a project from well-designed to timeless. “It’s important that every micro element ties back to the design concept and vision, rather than distracting from it,” says Toh. “Unica X allows us to maintain that consistency, creating touchpoints that align with the home’s origins while enhancing its daily use.”
In the end, coherence in simplicity is as much about subtraction as it is about addition. By partnering with brands like Schneider Electric, Quarters Architects ensures that even the smallest elements reinforce, rather than compromise, the integrity of their designs.

Bridging form and function
As Li Xuan, interior designer account manager at Schneider Electric, points out, the brand’s role in design today is about bridging form and function. “We transform essential electrical components into stylish, integrated elements,” she says. “Our solutions are sustainable, safe, and reliable, yet they seamlessly complement and elevate modern interior spaces.”
The Unica X range—with its ultra-slim 6.5mm profile, sleek stainless-steel construction, and a palette of colours and textured finishes—brings a new level of refinement to everyday fittings. Its technical excellence is equally impressive, from CNC-machined precision to rigorous durability standards that ensure each switch and socket performs flawlessly across thousands of uses. “This blend of style and substance gives homeowners the flexibility to personalise their space while maintaining a cohesive, modern look,” Li Xuan notes.
Crucially, Schneider Electric sees itself as a partner to architects and designers, supporting their creative vision with technical expertise and reliable performance. Through dedicated programs, first-hand previews of product launches, and ongoing collaboration, the brand ensures that its solutions not only meet the highest safety and quality standards but also enhance design intent. “A successful partnership is rooted in shared values: commitment to quality, innovation, and user experience,” she explains. “When there is trust and collaboration, we co-create spaces that are both beautifully designed and technically sound.”
For homeowners, this translates into moments of understated luxury woven seamlessly into daily life. From the first light switch flicked in the morning to charging a device at night, Schneider Electric is quietly present, offering peace of mind while adding a subtle layer of elegance. It is this philosophy—where design, innovation and lived experience converge—that continues to guide Schneider Electric’s partnerships with Singapore’s leading architecture and interior firms.
