The architect’s own residence at Twin View becomes a canvas for adaptability, atmosphere and tactile refinement—brought to life with Schneider Electric’s Unica X collection
When architect and homeowner Chio Wen Tian first encountered the Twin View condominium, he didn’t just see a layout; he saw the potential for layered storytelling. Today, his home is a study of restraint and drama, a spatial choreography of vaulted corridors, concealed entries and fine materials. At the heart of this design narrative lies a collaboration with Schneider Electric, whose Unica X collection of switches and sockets now anchors the interiors, delivering unmatched tactile elegance and seamless functionality.
“When designing our home, my wife and I envisioned a timeless, adaptable space—a sanctuary for our family today and for tomorrow,” recounts Chio, as he relaxes in his living room with the full-height balcony window and panoramic views of the Pandan Reservoir unfolding in front of him. “Inspired by brutalism, cinematic volume and spatial drama, we wanted a home that quietly speaks of the future, where form, materiality and experience come together with intention.”

This philosophy takes tangible shape in the apartment’s layout. A dual-key configuration splits the home into two zones: one, a self-contained junior suite tucked discreetly behind a mirrored hinged door; the other, the primary residence accessed through a sliding glass panel. The spatial sequencing offers flexibility for future life stages, while maintaining a sense of privacy and openness.
From the moment the fluted door slides open, the home reveals itself gradually: inviting archways, soft textures, and light fixtures curated with precision. Every element was selected not just to serve a purpose, but to contribute to a unified visual and tactile rhythm.

High arches guide the eye toward the living area; soft Marmorino plaster walks absorb warm evening light, while the balcony becomes an unexpected dining room—framed by sunsets over the Pandan Reservoir. These atmospheric gestures turn functional zones into sensorial moments, underscoring the home’s intent to evolve gracefully with its inhabitants.

Above Chio worked with Li Xuan, interior designer account manager at Schneider Electric, to see how the Unica X fittings could integrate into his vision
Sourcing the right materials for the home was a process Chio describes as “tedious”—and choosing electrical fittings was no exception. The decision to work with Schneider Electric followed a chance encounter at a Tatler Homes event where Chio was introduced to the Unica X range. He instantly saw how it could integrate into his vision. “What drew me to Schneider Electric was the way they approached design,” he says. “While most electrical fittings are crafted as an afterthought, the Unica X range aligned perfectly with the design language of our home.”
From there, the collaboration with Li Xuan, interior designer account manager at Schneider Electric, unfolded organically—showcasing Schneider Electric's dedication to partnering with design professionals to bring their visions to life.
“At Schneider Electric, we believe luxury is more than just appearance,” says Li Xuan. “It is the seamless integration of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. The Unica X range embodies minimalist elegance: ultra-slim at just 6.5mm with a brushed stainless-steel finish and precision machining.”
The home’s understated palette finds its match in the Unica X stainless-steel finish, which echoes the detailing in the kitchen cabinetry and built-in fittings. The tactile 'click' of the switches is as considered as their placement, a sensory experience embedded in daily rituals.
But more than just a visual accent, the Unica X collection also supports how Chio’s family lives and interacts with their home. “It is also deeply functional,” he shares. “Integrated USB ports in the bedrooms and study allow us to charge devices without bulky adapters, and the fittings support our smart home devices seamlessly.”

Li Xuan adds: “Every detail of the Unica X range is designed to support how we live. Each element is engineered for daily ease and safe, long-term reliability. With Schneider Electric, homeowners can feel confident that what’s beautiful is also built to last.”

In a home where every shadow is shaped and every surface speaks, even the smallest details carry meaning. For Chio, design is not about making grand statements, but it is in the details: the soft arc of a corridor, the subtle gleam of brushed steel, the quiet satisfaction of a switch that clicks just right.
With Schneider Electric’s Unica X range integrated so seamlessly into the space, the collaboration goes beyond product—it becomes part of the architecture’s vocabulary. The result is a home that doesn’t just reflect its inhabitants, but anticipates them. It is a testament to Schneider Electric’s dedication to elegance, purpose, and enduring clarity—crafted not to impress, but to empower.
