As part of the brand’s “Make it yours!” campaign, the Milan-based visionary imagines a Scandinavian beach house for a young and active family, unconstrained by budget and fully adorned by his latest designs.

Earning a reputation as the ‘gentleman of design’ over his five-decade career, Citterio has distinguished himself by his refined sensibility and elegant, unobtrusive concepts—an enduring signature that returns in the new AXOR Citterio C collection. Its range of fixtures for the wash basin, bathtub, and shower is distinctly and deliberately minimalist, allowing creative liberty no matter one’s aesthetic preference, lifestyle, or space considerations.
Citterio says it best: “The bathroom has become a kind of living room, a place where we can relax and tend to our well-being. At the same time, especially in the city, even luxurious bathrooms are becoming smaller…The collection had to be slender and compact, with a softness that spoke to our desire for comfort and a reduced materiality that reflected the contemporary imperative to create more out of less.” Additionally, it had to be adaptable and durable, engaging and attracting its users beyond just the first glance.

With soft contours and a sensuous verticality, AXOR Citterio C pieces effortlessly imbue a sense of understated elegance. This makes them the perfect accessories for an uncluttered haven that embraces a refreshing connection to nature—just as Citterio renders in his “Make it yours!” concept, pairing his creations with bright materials like travertine, light cement, and pale birch wood. Recognising that natural light is scarce and precious in its pristine Northern setting, the spacious bathroom has been oriented to the east with glass walls to let the morning sun stream in.

The dream space features a suite of AXOR Citterio C fixtures, including two faucets at the washbasins, a three-hole rim-mounted bath filler, and a thermostatic shower system with both a hand and overhead nozzle. For the finish, Citterio chose Brushed Black Chrome, an exclusive AXOR FinishPlus surface, which beautifully stands out against the creamy travertine and highlights the pieces’ slender shape from every angle.
Intending to elevate the series’ slender and ergonomic forms further, Citterio developed a special, textured surface as an option for the handles to heighten the water experience. Also available are resource-conserving functions for the faucets and showers, reaffirming how precious water is and how inexplicably linked nature is to wellness.
