Explore how Adorne by Phoenix Home's recent opening unites Filipino artisans and designers to celebrate heritage and innovation

Collaboration and community are vital in Filipino design, reflecting how the culture nurtures each person's creative expression. These principles foster innovative spaces that celebrate heritage while adapting to modernity.

Adorne by Phoenix Home’s recent opening embodies this ethos, bringing together local artisans, designers and enthusiasts. “It’s a platform for meaningful connections,” shared Phoenix Home’s founder Nix Alañon. “Everyone can exchange ideas and celebrate the artistry and intention behind each piece.”

By showcasing collective creativity and craftsmanship, it creates a platform where tradition meets contemporary aesthetics, inspiring a thriving design culture rooted in unity. For Alañon and the Phoenix Home team, contemporary Filipino designs are deserving of global recognition.

Below, Tatler explores how the Adorne showroom shines the spotlight on Filipino designers, and how they continue to push the boundaries of native materials and forms.

Opening Adorne by Phoenix Home is a significant milestone. What’s the personal vision you hope to achieve through this space?

My vision for Adorne by Phoenix Home is to create a vibrant space where Filipino craftsmanship stands proudly alongside international brands and design aesthetics. By curating these diverse influences under one roof, I aim to celebrate the beauty of collaboration and highlight that design diversity, when thoughtfully combined, can result in a harmonious and inspiring environment.

If someone walked into Adorne for the first time, what story would you want the space and the curated pieces to tell?

I want the space to tell a story of creativity and thoughtful curation. Each piece should feel like part of a cohesive tapestry—a collection that flows effortlessly and inspires fresh ideas. It invites visitors to explore, discover, and envision how these selections can elevate their style, bring a design project to life or find a meaningful gift, especially during this holiday season.

How has Filipino design evolved over the years, and in what ways do you think Adorne reflects this evolution?

Filipino design has evolved into a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. While it remains deeply rooted in our rich heritage and artisanal craftsmanship, it has also embraced innovation, contemporary aesthetics, and global influences. This evolution reflects a growing confidence in adapting, experimenting, and showcasing Filipino creativity on a broader stage.

Adorne by Phoenix Home spotlights Filipino designers and artisans. What inspired you to champion local craftsmanship, and how does it align with your design philosophy?

I’ve always believed that local craftsmanship is at the heart of what makes design truly special. This aligns perfectly with my design philosophy, which is about creating spaces and collections that are meaningful, intentional, and timeless. By spotlighting local craftsmanship, we not only celebrate our roots but also ensure that these traditions evolve and thrive in a modern context. Adorne by Phoenix Home is my way of bridging the past with the present, showing that local talent can stand alongside global design while maintaining its unique charm and authenticity.
