4. Jun Ong & Kyle E Yon

Ever been to The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel's Swimming Club? The rooftop pool and bar's eye-popping pink design is the work of light designer Jun Ong and landscape architect Kyle Yon, co-founders of Pow Ideas design firm and the first Malaysian architects to showcase their work at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019. Pow Ideas is responsible for designing some of the most exciting venues in town, from various F&B outlets at APW Bangsar to Merchant's Lane in Chinatown and Urban Retreat Spa in Mont Kiara.

5. Steph Low

Steph Low started her interior design journey by giving old houses a modern facelift. Although starting her own design firm Yong Studio in 2015 was the most challenging phase in her life, the early struggles soon gave way to successes; today, Low is living her dream designing chic urban residential properties with numerous design awards under her belt, including one from the Asia Pacific Property Awards in 2018.

6. Shini Raman

The stylish founder of VSQ Design and Decorate is known for transforming small residential spaces into elegantly dazzling interiors – from tiny attic bedrooms and narrow dining spaces to staircases. Recently, the designer boldly tried her hand at designing furniture, resulting in the creation of her very own bespoke Shelled lounge chair for a client.
