Architects, designers and friends from the Tatler community discovered the storied history of Italian luxury lighting brand Barovier & Toso at its Singapore flagship store

Nothing beats timeless elegance, and at Barovier & Toso, the master artisanship and absolute beauty of the Murano glass-blown chandeliers are simply breathtaking sights.

With a storied history that dates back to 1295, the Venice-based brand has been known for combining modern designs with time-tested glassmaking techniques, creating beautiful lamps that transcend the passage of time. The Italian brand marks a new chapter with the grand opening of its first international showroom in Singapore’s exclusive Nassim Road neighbourhood.

Entitled Venice at Night With Vivaldi, Barovier & Toso soirees were organised in collaboration with Tatler Homes Singapore, and hosted industry designers and decor enthusiasts at the Singapore boutique. Guests learnt more about the brand’s artisanal heritage, its stylish offerings and the myriad customisation options available. Barovier & Toso CCO Diego Dubosc Martinez and marketing director Daniela Sarracco, flew down from Italy specially for this event, and gave an introduction to the brand history and key collections. Ed Ong, director of Barovier & Toso Singapore, also greeted guests with a warm welcome speech.

“Opening this showroom gives us the chance to be closer to our customers, partners, architects and designers,” shares Martinez, who is passionate about the expansion into Singapore. “Barovier & Toso is an amazing school of elegance and the passion from all the people who work for us is incredible. A brand like ours with seven centuries of history needs to be shared with the world and this showroom can do just that while bringing the people in Singapore a piece of Venice.”

Melodic compositions by Italian virtuoso Antonio Vivaldi were performed live by homegrown string quartet group Vocalise, accompanied by Italian-style canapés served by Luxe catering, and a fine selection of Italian wines from Angra Wine & Spirits. Masquerade masks provided a fun photo opportunity for guests, in line with the occasion’s Venetian theme.
