Cover For its two showrooms, Jerald Tew of Spin Fans worked with Jeremy Tay, CEO of Prestige Global Designs to bring his vision to life

More than just showrooms, Spin Fans’ experiential and immersive spaces in Tampines and Bendemeer are thoughtfully designed to celebrate movement, materiality, and imagination—redefining the ceiling fan as both functional fixture and sculptural centrepiece

In Singapore’s tropical climate, ceiling fans are non-negotiable—yet few elevate them into the realm of sculptural design quite like Spin Fans. At its two carefully crafted showrooms, the local brand invites visitors to move beyond mere utility, stepping into spaces where ventilation becomes an immersive experience.

“When we set out to design the Spin Fans showrooms, the goal was simple: to create immersive, inspiring spaces where fans aren’t just displayed, but experienced in real-life settings,” shares Spin Fans’ founder Jerald Tew.

For that, Tew roped in the expertise of Jeremy Tay, CEO of Prestige Global Designs to help bring his vision to life.

Experiential Lab at T-Space: A domestic showcase of design

Located in the T-Space development in Tampines, the Experiential Lab marks a bold departure from conventional retail stores. A shared home for both Spin Fans and Crestar,  the 2,700 sq ft space resembles a beautifully appointed house, with each corner—from a gourmet kitchen to a restful bedroom—dressed with lighting, textures and, of course, ceiling fans that breathe life into the setting.

“We wanted customers to see, feel, and touch the fans up close—to experience them not just as products, but as part of their lifestyle,” says Tew. “The idea was to bring the fans down from the ceiling, into the customer’s line of sight so they can understand the materials, appreciate the craftsmanship, and see how it integrates with their interiors.”

“Jerald’s vision was clear,” shares Tay. “Here, we drew inspiration from the elegant curves of fan blades; translating them into sweeping walls and layered lighting. The entryway sets a tone of quiet luxury, with bronze accents and organic forms that suggest movement.”

The stair railing, made from recyclable fan blades, and a prominently placed pedestal showcasing the craftsmanship of Spin Fans’ fans both reinforce the sense of design precision and artistry. These thoughtful details haven’t gone unnoticed. The showroom was recently awarded ‘Best Singapore Retail Interior’ and was nominated for ‘Asia Pacific Best Retail Interior’ at this year’s International Property Awards.

“We wanted visitors to move through spaces that feel like home, each showing how Spin Fans elevate daily living,” Tew adds.

Immersive Lab in Bendemeer: Where air meets art

Across town, the Immersive Lab in Bendemeer offers a distinct counterpoint: light, angular, and conceptually bold. If the Experiential Lab leans into curvature and comfort, this space is all about clarity, elevation, and airiness—stripping away the traditional showroom blueprint entirely.

“At the Immersive Lab, we pushed the boundaries,” Tay shares. “Here, fans are displayed like art pieces in a light, dynamic space.”

In case you missed it: Exploring the elegant redesign of the Crestar and Spin Fans Experiential Lab

Designed as a sensory gallery,  the showroom’s predominantly white palette lends a museum-like clarity, allowing the sculptural forms of the fans to take centre stage. Bronze wooden frames delicately enclose each display like artworks in a gallery. Visitors encounter fans not as appliances, but as elevated objects of design. “It’s a space designed for emotional connection,” explains Tay. “We wanted to create an experience that transcends mere transactions. Our aim was to foster a sense of connection and belonging, and invite exploration and discovery.”

The ceiling in the main hall is dotted with a pollen-inspired motif, evoking the invisible dispersion of particles in motion. Playful moments punctuate the space too: wallpaper flipped upside down at the bar and customisation room spark conversation, reflecting Spin Fans’ belief that “design has no rules” and that perception is everything.

The Bendemeer showroom also introduces a heightened sense of interaction. Labels and QR codes invite self-guided discovery, while an LED screen anchors the central zone with promotional and seasonal storytelling. At one of the walls, clients can explore 16 curated colour options developed with an Italian paint company. This latest collaboration pairs Spin Fans with formaldehyde-neutralising timber blades made from fast-growing Empress wood—a nod to both sustainability and style. Following that, customers can head into the customisation room to mix and match components in real time.

A hidden room, accessed via a walkway framed by vines, is dedicated to sustainability—a quiet narrative shift that places thoughtful engineering front and centre. Visitors learn about Spin Fans’ recyclable Empress wooden fan blades, which are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.

The partnership between Spin Fans and Prestige Global Designs is a case study in creative synergy. Tew and Tay’s shared passion for bold ideas and purposeful design has shaped two showrooms that feel as intentional as the products featured.

Above all, the two showrooms are a celebration of what Spin Fans stands for: craftsmanship, innovation, and a distinct point of view.

“For interior designers, the goal is to provide them with a canvas of possibilities,” says Tew. “For homeowners, we want them to interact with the fans: touch the materials, understand the design stories, and get a feel of how it complements their space. And for everyone else, we want it to be an experience worth remembering.”

“Ultimately, it’s about connection,” he concludes. “We hope these spaces inspire and show how a beautifully crafted fan—often an afterthought—can transform a room, not just functionally, but as a true centre piece of a space.”
