“Unlike traditional entertainment rooms where all devices and speakers are placed on a TV console, our bespoke home theatre and karaoke solution will provide means to conceal all the speakers, amplifiers, and players so that the screen can have its maximum visual effect,” says Eski. This could mean the creation of a hidden circuitry room where all of the wiring and devices could be stored, so as to provide a sleek and streamlined look within the primary entertainment area.

Where brand-new homes are involved, the process typically starts by collaborating with the architects and designers on the floor plan, and plotting the locations of the cables and switches in the schematic according to the client’s needs, for instance, how many motion sensors are required, and to what extent the home should be automated. For existing abodes, the wiring is concealed in the false ceiling, and the other components are thoughtfully integrated seamlessly with the present layout.

Each project typically involves five or more site visits, conducted by members of Home Action Party’s professional team. Its team members each have their own unique skillsets and specialise in different stages of the home automation process: this includes presale design, conducting site surveys and meetings, the actual implementation of the system, as well as end-user training and customisation.

Further fine-tuning or customisation options made to the system are also offered after the owners have moved into the home. This ensures that the system is installed to work exactly as the client wants it to. With a customer’s permission, the firm can also check on the status of a smart-home system remotely for easier troubleshooting. This could involve music piped into multiple rooms, motorised blinds, smart lights that can change hue and be dimmed or brightened, as well as scheduled settings for air-conditioning and temperature control. The home automation system can also incorporate a security camera network, home alarms, voice automation functionality, and complete Wi-Fi coverage. Everything is managed via the Control4 smart-home system, which can easily control up to 10,000 devices via an intuitive interface.

Aaden recounts an incident in which a client, who had requested that his whole house be filled with background music, faced difficulty summoning his domestic helper because of the constant tunes. The solution was a preset button on the Control4 app that plays an announcement via the speakers telling her on which level of the home she is needed. How’s that for customisation and convenience?
