Find out why Miele appliances continue to be a top choice among home cooks and interior designers alike
“Blink and you’ll miss it”, as one adage goes. With today’s incessantly rapid pace and shortening product cycles, we find ourselves chasing the latest trends and yearning for “faster, simpler, and better” ever so often. Such is the case for the appliance market. As it is saturated with seemingly endless choices, finding the perfect fit—for your home and your life—can feel overwhelming.
You could spot the most beautiful make of an item but find its features and reliability subpar, or it might not be the “green” choice. At the end of the day, what’s worth it won’t compromise on the qualities that matter, such as longevity, technology, and sustainability. Bound to pique the interest of discerning homeowners and designers alike, these three principles also form the ethos of Miele, whose brand promise of “Immer Besser” or “Forever Better” transcribes a relentless commitment to quality and innovation for the last 125 years.

From state-of-the-art laundry machines and vacuums to coffee makers and full kitchen ensembles, each Miele product reflects a profound dedication to making life simpler, more efficient, and downright enjoyable. Just ask long-time patrons Ces Tan, Tony Becker, and IDr Rossy and Bong Rojales. As they share their unique stories and journeys with Miele appliances, we get a glimpse of how the German brand has elevated both their daily routines and well-appointed abodes:
A true constant: Ces Tan on longevity
It was fifteen years ago when homemaker Ces Tan first embarked on a journey to build her dream kitchen. Growing up in a family of home cooks (in Pampanga, no less), she counted food among her love languages and knew she would spend a lot of time in the space; she also had a pretty good idea about the sort of appliances and level of quality she wanted for it.
This led her to Miele, where she was immediately captivated by its contemporary designs and innovative engineering features. Since investing in the Generation 5000 line many years ago, her trust in the brand has only strengthened. Countless meals and memories have been made with Miele’s intuitive oven and versatile cooktop, and post-cooking cleanup is a breeze with their sleek yet heavy-duty dishwasher.

Everything is “good as new and consistent,” Tan shares, adding how she’s not a fan of trial and error when it comes to her recipes. With Miele, she simply has to input her preferred settings into the oven, and the appliance reliably does most of the work, making it ideal for both culinary enthusiasts and beginners looking to achieve perfect results without the guesswork. “The dish comes out perfect as it did the last time,” says Tan.
Now settling into her family’s second home, choosing Miele for her gorgeous new kitchen was Tan's natural choice. She’s excited about having the newer models installed in it, which again is a testament to the brand’s relentless innovation. “Looking back at all our milestones as a family, [Miele] has been there helping me make these moments more special,” she finally expresses.
Built to last: Tony Becker on sustainability
The longevity of Miele appliances runs in the story of German-born powerhouse builder Tony Becker, too. Having dedicated the last two decades or so to building power plants across the Philippines, he firmly believes that choosing durable products is not only an essential move but also the most sustainable one.
For Becker, sustainability means endurance; it’s investing in materials or products that can consistently deliver over the years. One could easily see how this applies to every aspect of his life, from his choice of a wristwatch—a Rolex Submariner he’s had for over thirty years—to the fixtures he and his wife keep in their BGC condo unit. In the kitchen, where cooking has become a true pleasure for Becker, the Miele cooktop and grill take centre stage.

“I’m not a chef,” remarks Becker, “but I’ve been accused of being one.” Preparing gourmet meals at home is all the more delightful, heightened further by the fact that they have never needed to have their Miele appliances serviced since buying them. And the cooktop is used daily, says Becker. He adds, “It has never broken down and that’s the difference I’ve noticed with other brands.”

Much like Becker, Miele recognises enduring durability as the ultimate form of sustainability. Creating smarter, more energy-efficient products that last decades of use means less consumption and fewer disposals, directly rejecting today’s rampant throwaway culture. Through this lens, “Forever Better” extends beyond product quality, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
A partner for life: IDr Rossy and Bong Rojales on technology
Crafting beautiful spaces that stand the test of time is a shared passion of IDr Rossy and Bong Rojales, the dynamic duo behind Hurray Design. Their dedication to timeless design aligned them with Miele—a chance discovery spurred by their clients’ glowing commendations and requests for the brand. Witnessing firsthand the lasting performance of Miele appliances sparked a curiosity in the designers, leading them to invest in the same smart machines for their own home.
“Before Hurray, I worked twenty years in technology so when I look at brands, I research all the specs and history. You want a brand with a good track record in innovation and reliability,” Bong shares. He fondly recalls their first Miele appliances, the washer and dryer, which impressed not just in terms of cleaning quality and efficiency but also in its gentle care for even the most delicate garments. This meticulous attention to detail sealed the deal for them, and soon they invested in Miele’s cutting-edge dishwasher, too.

For a busy couple with two children, the added convenience of a dishwasher was a game-changer. With its automatic detergent dispensing system and uncompromising commitment to hygiene, the Miele dishwasher is trusted to utilise fresh water for every wash cycle, saving Rossy and Bong precious time balanced between work and family life.
Indeed a perfect match for this creative duo, Miele appliances are seamless partners in creating a beautiful, functional home that reflects their dedication to timeless quality, innovation, and care. To conclude, Rossy says, “In that sense, we feel aligned with Miele—always working to get better at what we do.”
