Space Furniture Singapore unveils a fresh collection from Baxter—a sculptural, sensuous expression of modern luxury, shaped by iconic design movements and architectural greats

Milan Design Week 2025 has just concluded, revealing bold visions for the future of interiors. While it may be some time before the newly unveiled 2025 launches become commercially available worldwide, design lovers in Singapore can take solace in a timely arrival: Baxter’s fresh offerings. First revealed at Milan Design Week 2024, the collection has just landed at Space Furniture Singapore.

Founded in 1990 by Luigi Bestetti, Baxter is an Italian brand renowned for its artisanal leather expertise and bold creative collaborations with design luminaries like Paola Navone and Piero Lissoni. The arrival of this long-anticipated edit bridges the gap between past and present—a snapshot of Italian craftsmanship at its most sensuous and sculptural, updated for modern sensibilities.

Baxter’s 2024 vision, which continues to shape the narrative in 2025, is defined by tactile indulgence, confident forms and material layering.

From the rich tactility of Kashmir leather and rhubarb-toned nubuck to sculptural silhouettes that echo everything from Bauhaus geometry to Californian modernism, the brand’s latest creations straddle architecture, art, and everyday comfort. These pieces do more than fill a room—they bring it to life with character and distinction.

Inspired by the sunken conversation pits of the 1970s, the Aura sofa by Hannes Peer is designed to evoke the architectural glamour of John Lautner’s Los Angeles villas. A polished aluminium or lacquered rhubarb base supports deep, structured cushions—offering that specific kind of comfort imbued with nostalgic reinterpretation of communal lounging.

The Aura pouf, finished in Mongolian wool, adds a textural contrast to the ensemble.

The Lana Tables Christophe Delcourt, express a different kind of harmony—one of weight, balance and graphic rhythm. Using Wildflower marble, their constructivist-inspired geometries pair substantial stone slabs with razor-thin lines, creating an artful interplay of solidity and void.

For homeowners seeking a statement chair, the Pillow Armchair, also by Peer, offers architectural whimsy and high-performance elegance. Referencing the exposed structure of the Centre Pompidou and the biomorphic forms of Henry Moore, its padded flaps unfold like petals, creating a soft, sculptural form grounded in visual tension.

Storage becomes an art object in the Dune Bookcase by Draga & Aurel. Crafted in glossy steel and finished in carmine, it channels the retro-futuristic glamour of 1970s pop, turning a functional piece into a conversation starter.

A quieter but equally compelling addition is the Aegates Table by Baxter P, the brand’s in-house style team. Inspired by the form of archipelagos, these sculptural low tables come in a mix of natural poplar briar and high-gloss lacquer finishes, offering organic silhouettes that double as functional centrepieces.

For the dining space, Baxter brings depth and texture with the Isamu Table by Roberto Lazzeroni—a familiar favourite reintroduced this year in a striking Travertino Silver marble finish. This update enhances the table's sculptural elegance, juxtaposing mass and refinement, with a rounded top resting on a base of dramatic visual heft.

Joining the collection is the newly launched Olaf Armchair, also by Lazzeroni, which pays tribute to the whimsical forms of Jean Royère. Compact yet full of personality, it brings a fresh, light-hearted energy to the collection—highlighting Baxter’s knack for balancing elegance with a touch of irreverence.

Rounding out the edit is the So Far Chair by Studiopepe. With its Bauhaus-inspired cantilever frame and leather-upholstered shell, it merges modernist rigour with plush tactility—a versatile piece that fits seamlessly into a home office, study or design-forward dining room.

Taken together, these pieces express the essence of Baxter: emotive design, expert craftsmanship, and fearless materiality. Available now at Space Furniture Singapore's refreshed dedicated section, Baxter's fresh in-store collection invites design lovers to engage with pieces that resonate on a sensorial level—designed not only to be seen, but to be lived in.
