Cover Tatler and Ethan Allen celebrate 30 years of refined and elegant home design

Mothers, daughters and loved ones arrived at the Ethan Allen showroom surrounded by the warmth of home

They say that home is where the heart is, and the Ethan Allen showroom was certainly full of love. Together with Tatler Philippines, the brand celebrated its 30th anniversary surrounded by mothers and daughters. Our community came together to reminisce on our fondest memories and to bond on great, timeless design.

“This event is in celebration of 30 years of Ethan Allen in the Philippines,” Focus Global Inc co-founder and executive vice president Loli Sy said during her opening remarks. “But today we're also celebrating in advance, Mother’s Day, so congratulations to all you mums out there.”

The showroom features pieces from across the spectrum of design. Furniture and fixtures are displayed, each in a variety of textures, materials and upholstery. Every conceivable shape and form have found their way here, crafted with the utmost care and creativity. In this instance, our friends were able to share a bit of their own. With scrumptious bites and tipples in hand, guests admired three tablescapes artfully arranged by our community, which highlighted their creativity and the versatility of Ethan Allen.

Julie Boschi’s tablescape, with its classic combination of soft blues and whites, recalled images of a leisurely afternoon brunch or spot of tea. This is accentuated by flowers with splashes of green and pink. Ching Cruz chose to lean heavily on gentle greens and raw, natural textures. This aptly balanced elegance with a subtle rustic charm, which naturally invited you to linger. Lastly, Linda Ley’s arrangement whisks you off to a Bali-inspired table, complete with colourful, tropical accents.

Next, we heard from three mother-daughter duos to speak about the shared moments and memories that they hold dear. For Fe and Stacy Rodriguez, hosting friends and family at their home is one of their love languages—a home filled with comfort and mementos from their travels abroad. Travel is central to Junie and Natalia Peña’s bond, as they recount their recent trips to South Africa and Lithuania. Meanwhile, Joy and Gilly Rustia reflect on the more quiet, subtle moments in life: sharing clothes, going shopping and feeling free to confide in one another.

Memories are shaped by the people we share them with, and this evening at Ethan Allen’s showroom was a reminder of that. For 30 years, the brand has made our homes places of comfort and warmth. This creates and moulds a space for more memories to be made with those we love and cherish most.

About

Tobias wants to write things that make people think, laugh, and reflect. He’s especially proud when he can sneak in a cheeky pop-culture reference or a pun in his titles and articles.

He possesses a deep love of history, resulting from years of books, games, and museum visits. It was this fascination with the human endeavour that fostered his love of writing, spanning genres, tones, and moods. He one day hopes to write a novel—he just hasn't decided on a genre yet. A certified homebody, you'll often find him on the computer he built himself, binge-watching Seinfeld or House, playing his favourite gacha game, or reading a book.
