Zencha by Sebastian Herkner centres on a gently curved countertop washbasin paired with a wide, uninterrupted shelf. Architect Antonio Citterio designed the Aurena by pairing a countertop basin with a ceramic console and texturised by matte cabinetry. His architectural roots are clearly reflected in its design: the integrated side-mounted towel rack is built directly into the console rather than as an auxiliary piece, keeping the washing area as one, continuous whole.

Christian Werner has taken the idea of light as a play between contrasts. He has translated this idea with Vitrium, defined by its backlit glass fronts that add a bit of depth and space to the entire piece. The colours do most of the heavy lifting, as the rounded white basin sticks out against the sophisticated dark-toned cabinetry and shelves.

As a follow up to Vitrium, Werner creatively weaves dark materiality together with clean lines. The decidedly rectangular console and cabinet are balanced by rounded washbasins, both of which balance each other out with black and white—simple, but profoundly effective.
