The Bulthaup B3 kitchen facilitates connection and functional living
More than just a place to prepare meals and satisfy late-night cravings, the kitchen is where many of our fondest memories and deepest conversations happen. These very moments flourish within the Bulthaup B3 kitchen, which serves as the centrepiece of an old, lovingly renovated farmhouse on Spain’s pristine Costa Brava. Part of a wellness retreat, its relaxed rural and rustic atmosphere invites all to slow down and find pleasure in the simpler things.
The Bulthaup B3 serves as a key aspect of how the entire retreat flows—a natural convergence point that facilitates closer relationships between people, themselves and the land. It all begins with the multi-function wall counters: made with pebble-coloured laminate, natural oak and aluminium. It is sculptural as it is refined, with its raised appearance giving off the impression that it floats above the ground, while the panelled sides exude minimalist appeal.

Bulthaup understands that kitchens are not static places, a quality felt with the B3’s kitchen island. This further reinforces the retreat’s emphasis on health, wellness and community through its capacity for up to 16 people to gather and congregate, fostering a shared joy of cooking. Thanks to the ample storage space afforded by the sculpted cabinets and drawers, there is plenty of space for friends, family and guests to observe: though not actively engaged in the preparation itself, they remain part of the process all the same.

Homegrown ingredients—sourced from the retreat’s orchard and vegetable garden—enhance this harmonious relationship with nature and people. Convenient implements, such as its customisable organisational systems, make it effortless to create an environment in which one can thrive. This personal aspect extends into the placement of the cabinets and counters themselves, as they can be thoughtfully arranged at your convenience.
