Trash made beautiful

Artist and environmental activist Wishulada Panthanuvong recently scored a gig with Volvo in Thailand, and is set to showcase a piece she created out of 200kg of rubbish at Volvo Studio Bangkok on the third floor of Iconsiam. 

Last week, she shared images of her masterpiece being installed at the carmaker's multi-functional space. She also shared that she will be taking part in a discussion on sustainability at the venue at 2pm local time on August 7.

Giant success

Over the weekend, Quiccs Maiquez and his R-TEQ63 inflatable made an appearance at Robinsons Magnolia mall in Quezon City, the Philippines, which he says is "the second stop of the Giga-sized R-TEQ63 Tour". The 25ft creation will appear in different locations across the Philippines this year.

At the mall, Maiquez held a meet-and-greet for his droves of fans, who showed up to see him and R-TEQ63 before they moved on to their third location.

Work hard, play hard

Sinan Ismail, founder and CEO of Durioo, a Y Combinator-backed streaming platform producing Islamic cartoons and shows, shared beautiful shots of Istanbul, Turkey, where he was attending the Global Muslim Workation (GMW), an initiative where attendees can spend two weeks working from its co-working space and take the time to network, learn and collaborate on projects.

In his post, Sinan shared how much he was enjoying being around “participants from all over the world. Amazing, talented, all of them”.

Perfect harmony

Kaiyin Huang, founder and artistic director of Kairos Arts, a charity that combines creativity and therapy, shared over the weekend how thrilled she was to be playing in a quintet again after so long. She also shared a video of one of her playing sessions on Facebook.
