The Indonesian lifestyle superapp is diversifying its portfolio of services to tap into the lucrative logistics market

Indonesian superapp Traveloka has launched its new on-demand logistic service, Traveloka Send. Co-founded by CEO Ferry Unardi, the company started as a digital travel agency before it expanded its services to include food delivery, booking of Covid tests and a buy now, pay later service.

Traveloka Send enables customers to deliver items not exceeding 5kg within 12km of their location. Prohibited items include cash, perishables or products worth over 500,000 Rupiah (US$33.54). The service is currently available in five Indonesian cities: Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.

Competition is stiff in Traveloka's native Indonesia, with competitors such as Tokopedia, Bukalapak and GoJek all vying to be the country's top superapp. In June this year, Traveloka raised more than US$200 million from investors at a valuation of US$3 billion.
