The real-life couple debuted a new brand of wine named Maison Bukana inspired by France’s wine-making legacy

Discerning travellers may have already familiarised themselves with Maison Bukana. Located in Siargao, the luxurious private villa stay helmed by French-Filipino businessman Christophe Bariou is a travel favourite for many. The establishment has prided itself on embracing traditional Filipino ethics and design, focusing on sustainable construction and foregrounding the attachment that many Filipinos have with nature.

This year, Bariou—along with singer, actress, and Gen.T honouree from the Philippines, Nadine Lustre—has launched a new venture, this time in food and beverage.

Maison Bukana wines blend the viticulture of France with the spirit of the Philippines. “At the heart of Maison Bukana lies a simple yet profound philosophy: harmonising the best of worlds,” says Bariou. “Our wines, much like our resort, aim to capture and celebrate the richness of diverse landscapes, traditions, and tastes.”

Partnering with Lustre was a no-brainer for Bariou. The couple, who have been in the spotlight for some time now, are leveraging Lustre’s sophisticated image to bring their wines to the market. Their first line consists of Bordeaux wines: one white, one red and one rosé. Respectively named Presqu'île (translating to “peninsula”), Vendage d'Été (translating to “summer harvest”), and Les Beaux Jours (translating to “the good days”), the three wines promise consumers a sophisticated drinking experience.
