Get ready to visualise and engage with a cloud kitchen like never before
Spearheaded by Gen T honourees Eric Thomas Dee and Victor Lim, along with Victor Mapua plus the likes of Christopher Po, Lance Gokongwei, Brian Cu, and Paulo Campos, Kraver’s Canteen has proudly introduced an immersive metaverse experience. They worked with a design firm to make their cloud kitchen concepts come to life so that us diners would be able to engage with the brands and visualise what they would look like as brick and mortar shops.
This project, which was two years in the making, has turned heads in the Philippine F&B scene for being truly innovative and a pioneer in the space. In fact, they tell us that it is the world’s very first interactive virtual food hall in the metaverse.

“We thought of one line that would sum up everything we wanted to do with Kra-Verse Food Hall. I said, let’s add thoughtfulness,” co-founder Eric Thomas Dee, shared. “Today, some consumers are getting the short end of the stick because everything is delivered for the same, if not higher, amount, but they don’t get to enjoy the ambience and service from a restaurant. We want to bring more value to every order.”
During the last few years, the way we engaged with food was all about takeaway and packaging–that quintessential dine-in experience had been missing in action. Dee told me of his frustrations, saying that he worked so hard to choose the flatware, plates, and tiny details at all his restaurants, excited to pamper diners and wished so badly that he could find a way to elevate the take-out experience in the same manner. He got to work and searched high and low in order to find the best packaging and unique self-heating containers to ensure that the restaurant experience could be mimicked at home, and toiled away with the team to introduce Kra-Verse to us all.

“That’s where we will stand out,” Dee pointed out. “That’s where people will say, ‘Oh that’s Kraver’s, their packaging is so well-thought of’... We also want to make the packaging presentable enough so you don’t have to put it on a new plate. It’s something you’ll be proud to serve as is, right then and there.”
Through Kra-Verse, the cloud kitchen launched six new brands: Charsilog (a modern take on your favourite silogs), Krave (comfort food cravings that are ideal for sharing), I Love U Stew (a concept close to Eric Dee’s heart, inspired by his favourite Korean spot in LA), Jok Time Lugaw (where comedy meets hearty comforting soup), Gravy’d (for the most delicious gravy sauces on your favourite proteins) and D. Wade Burgers (where you will find classic and plant-based burgers).

With this, Dee and the team underscore that through their virtual food hall, Kraver’s Canteen is changing the cloud kitchen game. Not only can you visit the Kra-Verse to simply visualise their digital-only concepts, play games, and enjoy yourself, but you can even talk to staff and place your orders! With its network of 10 kitchens in Metro Manila (with more on the way) the Kra-Verse Food Hall could serve as the most cost-effective incubator space that will enable brands to go online and test new market areas.
