Don't miss the Omakase by The Studio KL pop-up from now till August 2022

For an afternoon tea experience that defies expectations at every turn, give the Studio KL’s High Tea Omakase pop-up at Bar Shake a try.

The nine-course menu comprises a series of bite-sized delights inspired from various countries around the world. Instead of sushi and sashimi, expect clever creations like truffle tiramisu, deconstructed baklava with salted caramel, and brioche with slow-cooked onion chutney and French Gruyère cheese. Served in finger food-like portions, each course is powerful in flavour and deceptively crafted to surprise your taste buds.

Chef Lucas Heu of The Studio KL

Is it savoury? Is it sweet? Is it edible? Throughout this high tea, you’ll be asking these questions as Chef Lucas Heu assembles each course before your eyes in omakase fashion. Starting with a cocktail or a non-alcoholic beverage, diners are given a ‘boarding pass’ and a route map, which is the menu. The first course is introduced rather unexpectedly, setting the tone for the following courses.

There's no denying the level of effort and detail in each dish on this high tea menu. The bar atmosphere, though not akin to your average hotel lounge high tea affair, offers exclusivity and comfort thanks to Bar Shake’s plush and cosy interiors.

The high tea experience concludes this gastronomical journey 'around the world' with a comforting cup of hot pandan lemongrass tea and a trio of desserts that showcases familiar Malaysian flavours like durian and bubur cha cha.
