Cover Guests were invited to the exclusive Culinary Trail hosted by Tuah 1895 and Tatler Dining

Across a weekend, special guests had the opportunity to explore the incredible selection of restaurants within this iconic location, and try out restaurants they’ve never tried before

Over a beautiful weekend in July, we teamed up with Tuah 1895 to map out our ideal culinary weekend. A select group of guests were invited to this exclusive culinary trail that brought them around this iconic location and were treated to an ultra-exclusive experience that celebrated the diversity of Malaysia, and Tuah 1895’s food landscape.

Four intimate groups were hosted across two days, each group held about 10 guests, keeping it more personal. These lucky diners embarked on a tailored mystery route of restaurants, cafes, and bars for a holistic day out of eating.

Within the roster of Tuah 1895’s powerhouse establishments, guests were able to try out special menus and dishes from restaurants such as Hock Kee Kopitiam, As I Am by Chef Ton, Ting Shan, Mokky’s, Chef Kecik Boulangerie, and Crafty’s Bar & Lounge. At every single one of these stops, our guests were treated to bespoke dishes that were designed specifically for this collaboration.

The line-up provided a fun, diverse experience that encapsulated pastries, pizzas, fine dining, premium seafood, and even heritage kopitiam classics. Tuah 1895’s food offerings prioritise experience and flavour, making it a great one-stop shop for all your cravings.

As I Am by Chef Ton, one of the most anticipated stops on the trail, brought out high-level dishes from the boundary-pushing vision of chef Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn to the table. Ministry of Crab, the globally renowned restaurant from Sri Lanka also saw the man himself, chef Dharshan Munidasa, cooking the signature black pepper crab and crab chawanmushi that our guests had the pleasure of tasting.

Ting Shan’s grandeur was not lost within its flavours, offering classic Chinese cuisine such as peking duck, braised tiger grouper, and more. The private dining rooms our guests were situated in were adorned by karaoke systems, which were also thoroughly enjoyed.

During the evening sessions, the trail ended with the perfect nightcap at Crafty’s Bar and Lounge. With unparalleled views of Merdeka 118, it's an ideal spot to end with a flight of craft beers to try out the best Malaysia has to offer.

With these smaller groups, it gave way to more intimate moments, and shared connection over the food and space. It wasn’t just about hopping from restaurant to restaurant, but more so understanding the diversity of food offerings that can exist all in one space.
