With the official list launching on April 7, we take a look inside Tatler Best Malaysia

The roaring success of the Tatler Best of Asia launch in November of last year showed the crème de la crème of hospitality, a collective effort of various regions honouring the best of their countries. This year, we continue our mission to profile the best restaurants—and for the first time this year in Malaysia—local bars and hotels too, expanding our reach to all sectors of the local hospitality industry.

Tatler Best is the expansion of the Tatler Dining Guide, which builds on over 40 years of excellence. The initiative seeks to serve as a valuable resource for the sophisticated traveller and gourmand; a comprehensive view of luxury hospitality as a whole, honouring other key areas that embellish and enhance the magic of hospitality. Other than awarding the best 20 restaurants and bars in the country, this also includes a range of focused awards, the Best-In-Class awards.

Tatler Best Malaysia will feature the 20 of the best restaurants and bars, along with a handpicked selection of Best-in-Class awards that include restaurants, chefs, sommeliers, bars, bartenders, and hotels.

Through a rigorous voting process from our panel alongside the Tatler Dining team, the list serves as a definitive guide for where to eat and drink in Malaysia. The restaurants and bars that are chosen as part of the list of 20 not only excel in their offerings, pushing boundaries for our local hospitality scene, but also stand out in terms of service and special touches.

Hospitality cannot fit into set boundaries, and as such, the local Best-in-Class category will feature venues that are the prime example the best of hospitality. We will be paying respect to individual hotels, bars, and restaurants that possess the best service, design, innovation, and more.
