From their delectable menu to rustic and modern interiors, Tartufo Ristorante is your new staple restaurant

When you think of Italy, it's the food and culture that instantly spring to mind. With staples like pasta and pizza, Italian cuisine is a firm favourite on many people’s lists. Amidst this rich culinary landscape, Tartufo Ristorante emerges as a beacon of Italian gastronomy, blending traditional flavours with innovative twists. Chef Kennedy Alfonso’s culinary skills are tried and tested with the success of Bueno Tapas and Wine Restaurant, and now Tartufo. His love for food takes centre stage in this Italian playground where classic dishes are brought to a whole new level, with his unique touch.

From starting their operations in 2019 at The Grove by Rockwell, they have opened locations at Greenbelt 5, Makati, and One Maridien, BGC, in 2023. Tartufo Ristorante provides various services, such as exclusive events held in-store and an immersive dine-in experiences. With carefully chosen meal packages and outside catering services, the dining experience goes beyond the restaurant, enabling diners to enjoy the distinctive flavours wherever they are.

The restaurant also boasts a carefully curated menu inviting patrons to explore a range of flavours. This is a tribute to the restaurant's dedication to providing a fun and varied Italian dining experience at the hands of chef Alfonso. With their signature dishes, each plate showcases a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.

A prime example of this is the osso buco Milanese, a rustic veal stew from the Lombardy region of Northern Italy that stays true to its roots and provides a hearty experience that locals embrace. With a delicate pairing of beef shank and creamy risotto, every bite is one to cherish.

Continuing the exploration of Italian decadence, some of the other standout offerings are the filleto di salmone scottato, and a pan-seared salmon fillet that delights the palate. The dining experience is further enriched by the insalata 'burrata' caprese, a dish that pairs handmade burrata with fresh tomatoes and greens, enhanced by a honey pesto dressing. The menu also includes a sumptuous ragu alla bolognese served with roasted bone marrow, and the irresistible meatball bombs, which feature mozzarella encased in meatballs, all nestled in a rich pomodoro sauce.

Elevating the art of pizza-making while staying true to its Italian roots, the menu offers a range of choices that cater to various tastes. Among these is the pizza carnivora, a carnivorous delight, and the quattro formaggi, a four-cheese extravaganza. For those seeking out some indulgence, the pizza salmone affumicato combines cream cheese, mozzarella, smoked salmon, and caviar. Meanwhile, the pizza carbonara offers a richly flavoured experience with Italian sausage, smoked bacon, crumbled polpette, and homemade pomodoro sauce. The emphasis on using excellent ingredients shines through with each meticulously crafted pizza.

Wrapping up your meal at Tartufo on a high note, you're in for a treat with their cheesecake al ciocollato or a fine selection of cocktails. It's no ordinary dessert; this cheesecake is enrobed in silky chocolate, sitting on a crunchy almond crumble, and adorned with pecans. It's the kind of sweet indulgence that lingers in your memory, skillfully rounding off the savoury richness of your meal with a playful yet sophisticated touch. While their cocktails leave you thinking you'll need to try each one on the menu, especially the benedetto and the giardino floreal.
