From truffle-laced mousse to a never-ending caviar bar, this luxurious Sunday affair is one for the books.

If there is one way to make Sundays count, it is with a tower of fresh seafood, endless pours of bubbly, and a Chef’s Table experience that feels like front-row seats to a culinary concert. At The Brasserie, St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, brunch is not just a meal—it is an event. From the moment you step into the velvet-draped Astor Bar, you are handed a welcome drink and an array of delicate canapés—glazed salmon with sable, truffle egg sandwiches, foie gras tartines with pear chutney—all bite-sized and beautifully balanced to warm up the palate. Every element feels luxe yet inviting, setting the tone for the indulgent feast ahead.

Then the curtains part and you are whisked into the sun-drenched dining room of The Brasserie, where live music plays and the KL skyline unfolds just beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows. Here, you will find towers of seafood, glistening cuts of salmon, piles of fresh lobster, and golden tins of caviar—all part of an opulent buffet that is as generous as it is refined. Chef Azizi’s tableside specials, like his show-stopping beef wellington, add a personal touch to the already lavish affair. And for those who like their Sundays extra indulgent, the Exquisite & Elevate experience offers a specially curated caviar- or truffle-forward menu, featuring elevated starters, mains, and desserts that take the brunch to a whole new level. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply in the mood to spoil yourself, this is one Sunday affair you will be thinking about all week.

Here are five things we absolutely loved about our unforgettable Sunday at The Brasserie.

Before you even step into The Brasserie, you are welcomed into the moody, romantic embrace of Astor Bar. Black velvet curtains and plush interiors set the stage for a quiet prelude. Here, a series of refined canapés await alongside a welcome drink—each more delicate than the last.

Think glazed salmon with sable, a creamy egg and truffle sandwich that melts in the mouth, and a buttery foie gras tartine cut through beautifully with a sweet pear chutney. There is also a Tomato & Basil Pine Nut Praline that teases the taste buds with savoury depth and a nutty crunch. Each bite is balanced—rich, fresh, sweet, and savoury—and perfectly whets your appetite for what is to come. It is a starter course that sets the tone: this is no ordinary buffet.

From the sultry Astor Bar, you are transported into a completely different world. The Brasserie is bright and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame KL’s skyline. Natural sunlight floods the room, amplified by crisp white linens and warm wood tones. Live music hums in the background, adding just enough buzz to energise the room.

As you walk in, you are greeted—not with a reception—but with crates of desserts, pastries, and confections that flank the entrance. It is an invitation to indulge, and trust us, it is hard to resist.

The Seafood Spread Dreams Are Made Of

Let us just say it—this is not your average buffet. The seafood bar alone stretches across The Brasserie like a decadent oceanic runway, brimming with Boston lobster, Alaskan king crab, blue mussels, mud crab, tiger prawns, and Sabah lobster—all chilled to perfection and replenished constantly so it never, ever runs out. The freshness is unmistakable, from the natural sweetness of the prawns to the delicate brininess of the oysters. Speaking of which—the oyster bar is a dream, featuring a curated selection of French oysters including Fine de Claire, Tsarskaya, and Royal, all served with condiments like cocktail sauce, horseradish, mignonette, lemon wedges, and mayonnaise.

If you are a salmon fan, prepare to be spoiled: gravadlax, beetroot-cured, citrus-marinated, and good old smoked salmon line the chilled bar, with perfect pairings like herbed cream cheese, onion marmalade, sour cream, and rye bread crisps. There is also a gourmet salad bar with beautiful add-ons—quail eggs, soybean sprouts, beef bacon bits, croutons—and dressings like arugula pesto, rosemary oil, balsamic vinaigrette, and lemon oil to elevate every bite.

To drink? It is a bottomless affair. We are talking free-flow beer, red and white wines, sparkling wine, and even a curated list of cocktails. Not into alcohol? You are just as well taken care of with cold-pressed juices, freshly blended smoothies, and barista-brewed coffees and teas.

And then come the desserts—from giant pecan coffee macarons and pistachio financiers to vibrant tarts, doughnuts, and pandan cakes, the pastry spread is a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Our personal favourite? The Russian Honey Cake, so light and creamy it practically dissolves on your tongue. Every sweet treat is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented—a fitting finale to a brunch that never holds back.

Chef’s Table, Right at Yours

While the buffet alone is a feast fit for royalty, it is the Guéridon Experience that truly steals the show. Think of it as your own private chef’s table—executed with flair, finesse, and the personal touch of Chef Azizi himself. These dishes are not prepped in bulk; they are lovingly prepared to order, right by your table. It is theatrical, it is intimate, and it is undoubtedly one of the brunch’s most luxurious highlights.

The star of the show is definitely the signature Beef Wellington. A masterclass in indulgence, this dish arrives in all its golden, glistening glory—wrapped in layers of impossibly flaky puff pastry that crackle at the touch of a knife. Inside, the beef is perfectly pink and tender, almost buttery in texture, layered with earthy mushroom duxelle and a rich slab of foie gras that melts into every bite. It is savoury, decadent, and expertly balanced without ever feeling heavy.

Then there is the roasted duck—succulent, well-seasoned, and paired with a sticky jus that enhances every slice. The salmon? Juicy, never dry, with crisp skin and a beautiful, delicate seasoning that lets the freshness of the fish shine. Each protein is served with thoughtful sides: velvety smooth mashed potatoes, honey-roasted baby carrots, grilled vegetables, and a rotation of gravies and sauces to complete the plate.

More than just a meal, the Guéridon Experience is what fine dining dreams are made of—elevating your brunch from lavish to unforgettable. Trust us: this is the part you will be talking about long after the last bite.

The Exquisite & Elevate Experience Is Next-Level

As if the lavish buffet and Gueridon Experience were not indulgent enough, The Brasserie invites you to take things even further with the Exquisite & Elevate upgrade—an add-on menu that celebrates the finer things in life: truffle and caviar. This is a curated, multi-course journey layered on top of everything else, and while it is an extra indulgence, it is one that you will not regret.

Truffle lovers, this one is for you. The Champagne & Truffle menu is rich, earthy, and full of drama. The second course—a warm dish of truffle & onion with truffle cream sauce and freshly shaved truffle—is silky, fragrant, and incredibly moreish. The main, a butter-roasted cod in champagne sauce with black truffle emulsion, is refined yet comforting, while the dessert—a dark chocolate and black truffle mousse encased in a crisp shell with hazelnut praline soil and cacao nib ice cream—is an absolute knockout. The textures, the balance of bitter and sweet, the hint of earthy truffle—it is indulgence at its most elegant. If you are a truffle enthusiast, this experience alone is worth the visit.

The Champagne & Caviar menu, on the other hand, opens with a standout: a choux pastry piped with Kristal caviar cream and topped with more caviar. It is salty, creamy, and utterly addictive. The seafood cannelloni main balances briny notes with buttery smoothness, and the refreshing dessert—a guava and lychee compote with elderflower foam—cleanses the palate with a floral, fruity finish.

To top it all off? Sip on the signature Asam Boi Mary—a spicy-sour local twist on the classic Bloody Mary—which somehow pairs beautifully with just about everything on the table. It cuts through the richness, complements the seafood, and keeps your palate dancing from course to course.

Our recommendation? Come with a friend or a partner and order one of each—you will want to taste both menus to get the full experience. Whether you are team truffle or team caviar, the Exquisite & Elevate option adds an entirely new dimension to Sunday brunch at The Brasserie. Think of it as the cherry (or in this case, truffle shaving) on top of an already extravagant afternoon.

If you are looking to trade your Sunday blues for bubbles, caviar, and a side of tableside theatre—consider this your sign. From the dramatic welcome at Astor Bar to overflowing seafood towers, Gueridon Guéridon, and truffle-laced finales, Sunday Brunch at The Brasserie is not just a meal—it is a full-on experience.

Come for the oysters, the wine, the decadent dessert stations, or the Chef’s Table moment that pulls it all together. One thing is certain: you will not just want to return—you will already be planning your next visit before the last bite even melts in your mouth.
