This year, St. Regis brings back their highly anticipated Ramadan buffet, with the theme this year rooted in culture: Malam Warisan Melayu, highlighting Malaysia as a whole through the extensive terroir of our dining landscape, looking through the concept of Perahu Kolek, a traditional wooden boat. Historically, Malaysians were of seafaring origins, especially on the East Coast where people relied on wooden boats for trade, particularly for the use of spices and ingredients. These boats were handcrafted, adorned with designs meant to signify protection. Symbolising craftsmanship, precision, artistry, and resilience, the 14 states of Malaysia are honoured through each of their signature dishes.
The 14 dishes of Malaysia include Gulai Kampung Kepala Ikan Jenahak Pisang Muda for Perlis, Gulai Daging Tetel Rebung for Kedah, Asam Pedas Urat Keting Jantung Pisan for Penang, Gulai Itik Serati Nangka Muda for Kelantan, Tulang Rusuk Salai Rendang Tok Perak Manjakani from Perak, Gulai Udang Galah Daun Kemangi from Pahang, Gulai Rusuk Kambing Terung Pipit from Selangor, Asam Pedas Ayam Dara Bunga Kantan from Johor, Kampung Baru Bubur Lambuk Ayam Dara, Herba, Daun Bawang & Bawang Goreng from Wilayah Persekutuan, Asam Pedas Daging Tetel Terung Pipit from Melaka, Sambal Hitam Kismis Buah Manga Muda from Negeri Sembilan, Sambal Belacan Bintulu Ikan Bilis Daun Cekur from Sarawak, and Latok-latok with Cili Ketumbar from Sabah.

All of these dishes carry their own personality, representing the hyperlocal flavours and stories of creativity and resilience. Separated into two menus, each menu will have a ‘House of Gulai’ theme, or a ‘House of Asam Pedas’ theme. All of these dishes are served with an array of delicious innovative sambals, desserts, and drinks.
Enjoy these with a large group of friends and family, surrounded by other esteemed guests, or if you’re looking for something more intimate, St. Regis provides a few options of private rooms for the ultimate dining experience. On the other end of the scale, the ballrooms for hundreds of guests are available for booking to enjoy their buffet spread.
Take a piece of St. Regis with you this Ramadan with some of their gifting options, including Kurma Daifuku from the highly awarded Sushi Taka, crafted specially for this holy season. Other great options include their Perahu Kolek Chocolate, a boat-shaped butter sablé with chocolate coated dates that can wow anyone, or delicious eclairs with flavours that find their footing in local flavours.
