Cover Oatside plant-based dairy-free ice cream

Sample the guilt-free ice creams at the weekend launch with special appearances by sprint queen Shanti Pereira

Oatside has been making money moves since it first made our supermarket shelves in February 2022. Dubbed as the healthy and sustainable oat milk developed and made in Asia, for Asia, the trendy brand is now back again to redefine the plant-based experience with yet another oat milk marvel—and all fingers point to ice cream.

Just in time for the festive season, the launch sees the release of three crowd-pleasing flavours: velvety chocolate; peanut butter studded with nuggets of cookie dough; and coffee with mini chocolate chip. Making tasty ice cream with milk and eggs isn’t easy at all, let alone recreating one that is completely plant-based and lactose-free. And Benedict Lim, founder and chief executive officer of Oatside, knows just that.

“Plant-based non-dairy ice creams pose a technical challenge and tend to be icy versus their dairy counterparts, but we’ve managed to achieve a rich, creamy non-dairy ice cream using our classic Oatside oat milk as the base ingredient,” shares Lim. “Our team has been wiping out pints of Oatside ice cream and we’re struggling to keep the freezers stocked. I can't wait to share our Oatside ice cream with people.”
