Melbourne pancake chain The Pancake Parlour has made its way to Singapore with the opening of Surrey Hills Grocer’s newest outlet at Woodleigh Mall. Don’t miss its signature classic stack, a three-tiered pancake stack topped with whipped butter and vanilla crème Chantilly. Or consider savoury options like the bacon and eggs stack featuring maple-glazed smoked bacon and a sunny-side up egg with a side of hollandaise sauce.

4. Moonchild

There’s always something new in the trendy Jalan Besar neighbourhood, and this month it’s Moonchild, a new moody café that offers Instagram-worthy café fare. The butterscotch rum bananas French toast, for instance, looks irresistible with the insatiable sear on the brioche, topped with candied hazelnuts, vanilla ice cream, and drizzled heavily with maple syrup. Asian rice bowls are also on offer, like one featuring mala crisp pork with braised shiitake mushrooms and scallions for a hearty and filling lunch.

With aesthetic interiors and a bar counter to boot, make sure you get your hands on its signature pastries such as the matcha sesame choux puff that is incredibly soft and creamy. With dirty matchas rubbing shoulders with classic coffee options, this place looks to be a perfect reprieve from the hot sun.
