Here’s why Lucciola and Zoku deserve a spot on your brunch radar

In a city where weekend rituals are treated with devotion, a good brunch in Hong Kong demands more than simply good food and good drinks. More than anything, it warrants an atmosphere that invites you to pause, slow down and enjoy the finer things.

Among the city’s brunch scene, few tread the fine line between luxe and comfort often required of this weekend ritual. Enter The Hari Hong Kong, the sleek Wan Chai property that has captured this unhurried spirit. Whether your weekend leans towards a sun-lit Italian feast or a refined, contemporary Japanese affair, The Hari Hong Kong’s flagship restaurants, Lucciola and Zoku Restaurant & The Terrace, have you covered.

Stepping into Lucciola feels like an escape to a Milanese trattoria, where the experience is defined by a delicate balance between warmth and sophistication. The brunch menu starts at the antipasti bar table, on which lays a spread of authentic Italian delicacies. The star of this opening act is the homemade porchetta roast—a crisp and flavourful start to your meal.

From there, guests can enjoy a choice of starter from a selection that leads with sautéed black mussels, before moving onto a choice of main course. The curation of large plates celebrate ingredients from the land and sea, including Mediterranean roasted sea bass fillet and the Carnaroli risotto. A roaming dessert trolley rounds off your brunch on a delightful note, where Italian classics such as ricotta and pistachio cannoli, and the signature tiramisu are served table-side.

Over at Zoku Restaurant & The Terrace, the beat mellows in its sleek, modern dining room. The brunch menu is an exploration of contemporary Japanese flavours, opening with an otoshi—a small, complimentary appetiser served to customers at izakayas. Next comes the irasshaimase, or welcome, sashimi platter layered with the finest seasonal catches. Main courses lean into dishes crafted with premium ingredients, spanning options like the grilled yellowtail collar, prime beef ribeye steak and lobster tail tsukemen (dipping noodles).

Desserts feature distinctive Japanese ingredients and flavours, which include the light and airy white chocolate and matcha puffs. When the weather permits, step outside to The Terrace for a tipple and enjoy the subtle hum of Wan Chai’s bustle below.
