Bull & Bear: A Must-Visit Dining Destination
Bangkok’s vibrant dining scene is famously competitive, yet few venues manage to balance raw power with refined elegance as seamlessly as Bull & Bear. Perched majestically on Level 55 of the iconic Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, this isn’t just a traditional steakhouse; it is an elevated sanctuary for discerning guests who appreciate the fine art of the charcoal grill, impeccable architectural design, and sweeping views that truly redefine the city skyline. From the dramatic custom-made grill to the opulent gold-and-brass accents, every detail serves to enhance a world-class gastronomic journey. It remains a premier destination where legendary service meets a modern, high-energy atmosphere high above the bustling streets of the capital.

A Design That Tells a Story
The moment you arrive via the restaurant’s signature golden staircase, you are transported into a space designed by the world-renowned firm AvroKO. The atmosphere is one of ‘timeless grandeur’, where a sophisticated colour palette of ebony, dove grey, and bronze is punctuated by bold oxblood-red accents. What makes the interior truly remarkable is its cultural depth. The design subtly weaves together New York’s bold spirit with Thai mythology. You’ll find a local recreation of the famous Wall Street Bull and Bear statues, but with intricate Thai carvings integrated into the sculpture. Throughout the room, hints of feathers and snakeskin represent the Garuda and Naga, mythical creatures in a state of eternal struggle—a clever nod to the ‘Bull and Bear’ market concept. Lighting also plays a starring role. The centrepiece is an elegant chandelier featuring over 800 hand-moulded glass feathers, creating an ‘animalistic yet refined’ glow that reflects off the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Mastery of the Flame
While the views of Bangkok’s skyline are ‘million-dollar’, the true heart of the restaurant is the open kitchen. Under the leadership of Chef de Cuisine Hathairat ‘Jeiw’ Urapanthamat, Bull & Bear celebrates gourmet grilling with surgical precision. Bull & Bear: a must-visit dining destination Chef Jeiw’s journey is one of pure passion; she self-funded her culinary education and rose through the ranks of Bangkok’s most prestigious kitchens to lead the culinary team.
The culinary philosophy centres on a custom-made grill designed for smoking, slow roasting, and baking. Fuelled by eucalyptus and selected hardwoods, this technique infuses premium cuts of beef and fresh seafood with a delicate smokiness and perfectly balanced textures.
