Ahead of the Tatler Padel Series, guests gathered at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, for an afternoon of mindful sound healing followed by a beachfront Indonesian feast at Ikan.
In anticipation of the Tatler Padel Series in Bali, Tatler hosted an intimate group of community members at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali. Designed around balance and reconnection, the pre-event gathering invited guests to explore the resort's newly expanded wellness facilities before settling in for a seaside lunch along the Nusa Dua coast.
At The Westin, well-being serves as the cornerstone of the guest experience, anchored by the brand's pillars to Sleep Well, Eat Well, and Move Well. The resort features a comprehensive lineup of facilities, ranging from the WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio and specialised Reformer Pilates and Spin studios to a dedicated Hot Yoga Sanctuary and personalised health consultations. The wellness journey began under the guidance of Dr. Jitendra Pokhriyal, director of wellness & recreation, who led a soothing sound healing session. Through gentle vibrations and calming tones, the immersive hour encouraged guests to slow down and embrace sustainable mindfulness practices that extend beyond their session.
Following the sound bath, guests transitioned to Ikan, the resort’s open-air beachfront restaurant and lounge. Led by chef Mohamad Raviel Sidik, the kitchen presents modern Indonesian cuisine rooted in traditional recipes and locally sourced ingredients.
In case you missed it: The Bali dishes you've probably never heard of are now being served at Mandapa
The family-style feast opened with Singkong Lada Garam, golden cassava cakes topped with garlic, black beans, and chilli, alongside Lombok Oysters dressed in a pineapple sambal, and Kroket Sei Sapi, featuring smoked East Nusa Tenggara-style beef paired with a red chilli emulsion. A classic Pecel Pincuk Madiun salad followed, combining fresh greens with tempeh bacem and peanut dressing.
For the main course, the table shared a variety of regional dishes: West Java-style Balakutak squid cooked in a local herb sauce, crispy Bebek Goreng Klungkung, and Kuwe Bakar Saus Mentega—coffee wood-charred pompano finished with an Indonesian butter glaze and sambal roa. Skewers of Signature Sate Lilit and West Javanese Sate Maranggi were accompanied by Urap tropical vegetables, slow-cooked Gulai Daun Singkong, and a selection of fresh sambals.
