Whether you're in search of down-to-earth and protein forward plates or a meal to celebrate a special occasion with, we've compiled a list of where you can find soulful steaks in the Klang Valley.
Here are a handful of steakhouses you should visit, because sometimes a good slab of beef cooked to perfection can do wonders to satisfy the palate and the soul.

1. Asador V
Opened by the minds behind Vantador, a cornerstone of our local steak scene, Asador V is a lavish steakhouse concept nestled in Menara Hap Seng 3. The multi-level space is home to a myriad of premium cuts and are experts in the art of dry-ageing. Each protein is grilled on its asado fire grill from its dry-aged Wagyu to wet-aged grass fed Angus.
2. Maria's SteakCafe

This down-to-earth steakhouse has a simple mission, promising to deliver honest, fragrant and thick steaks that have just the right doneness. Their emphasis on "simply good food" has won a number of fans who swear by their food.
3. Grub By Ahong & Friends
Keeping up with the no-frills vibe, Grub by Ahong & Friends offers good steak with affordable prices at one trade-off: the restaurant employs a semi self-service style. But the trade-off is worth it, as you'll get to enjoy juicy steaks without burning a hole in your wallet.
4. Brasserie Léon
Traditional French cuisine is what drives Brasserie Léon, which may not seem like a must-visit when it comes to steak. Keeping true to its French bistro charm, an entire section of its menu is dedicated to steak frites. You’ll find an assortment of steak options here including Australian Black Angus prime-rib, Australian Meltique beef striploin, Australian Black Angus tenderloin, and Australian Black Angus rib-eye which all come served with homemade French fries and traditional French dressings.
5. Brasserie Fritz

Brasserie Fritz, which has been winning diners over with their French approach to fine-casual fare, recently found a new home at Troika. If you're looking for a good steak at fair prices, the restaurant does a fantastic Steak Fritz (grilled rib eye, almond butter, pommes Fritz and baby beans) and Steak au Poivre (pepper rubbed striploin, green pepper sauce, pommes fritz and baby beans). If you want your steak raw, there's also a wonderful beef tartare.
6. The Beato Steakhouse

One of the pioneers of dry-aged beef in KL, The Beato Steakhouse started in Publika and opened a second outlet in Telawi, Bangsar. Their steaks are incredibly flavourful, of high quality and always hit the mark. And don't even get us started on their sides. If you're looking for a good piece of meat, this is it.
7. N97

Another popular steakhouse, N97 in Bangsar is all about well seasoned slabs of beef. Diners swear by their tomahawk, which they also use to make a fried rice to round out the meal. Whatever your craving for beef, this place can sate that itch.

8. Marble 8

Located high in the sky on the 56th floor of Menara Petronas 3, Marble 8 is another top choice when it comes to steaks—dry-aged steaks in particular. The emphasis here is on premium cuts, so diners can expect world-class steaks with a world-class view.

9. Vantador
You know you’ve gone to the right place for steak when you’re welcomed by a glass meat locker filled with large slabs of dry-aged meat. This steak boutique serves a plethora of beef from the famed Wagyu and Angus to the lesser-known Rubia Galegia. Every cut is aged for at least 30 days, allowing it to take on a melt-in-your-mouth texture and intensify in flavour.
10. Jake's Charbroil Steaks

An oldie but a goodie, Jake's Charbroil Steaks has been operating in Malaysia for four decades, with outlets in KL and in Langkawi. Australian beef takes the cake here and their steaks are as good as they were all those years ago. If you're looking for a classic, Jake's should do it for you.
