The new collection celebrates six decades of the iconic James Bond film franchise through six limited edition bottles with illustrative designs inspired by the films' legacy

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, The Macallan has unveiled its latest limited edition collection inspired by all six decades of the iconic super-spy’s onscreen presence. Linked by their Scottish heritage, The Macallan and James Bond have shared the spotlight on many occasions, specifically in the 2012 film Skyfall where Bond is seen drinking The Macallan Fine & Rare 1962, and again in 2015’s Spectre with The Macallan 18 years old.

As Bond's whisky of choice, it is only fitting that The Macallan should celebrate one of the world’s longest running and most popular film franchises with an equally impressive collection of single malt whiskies, encased in distinct packaging designed around each decade as seen in the James Bond archives.

Following the defining tradition of The Macallan, the whisky boasts the colour of Suisse gold that is 100 per cent natural, with an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 43.7 per cent–selected by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker as a homage to James Bond’s agent number, 007.

Boasting fragrant notes of orange zest and fizzy sherbet, gentle oak, and ginger spice that lead into deep dark chocolate with figs, honey and baked apple tarts, the single malt whisky bears a sweet and long finish with complex layers of flavour, an expression of self-confidence, supreme complexity and a maturity that evolved over the years–mirroring the enduring and ever-evolving persona of James Bond across 25 films and six actors.
