From a towering bubble tea display to platforming sustainability, Tealive has given itself a makeover
Bubble tea just got a whole lot better. Tealive, a crowd-favourite when it comes to the treat, recently gave its brand identity an overhaul with a new mascot, tagline, flavour selection, and the introduction of its Mega Pearls.
Commencing the revamp and honouring World Bubble Tea Day with the grandest unveiling imaginable, the bubble tea specialist transformed the 48-storey TSLaw Tower into a colossal bubble tea cup through an impressive LED-light display.
The display marked the launch of The Bru-niverse, the realm of Tealive’s new mascot, Bru—a boba pearl come to life. Bru stands to physicalise the brand’s tagline, “Brewing Positivity,” and as a reminder that things aren’t so bad with a cup of bubble tea in hand.

Tealive’s rebrand brought with it a line of brand new, limited-run flavours that spotlight its most inventive creation yet—Mega Pearls. Straying from the usual tapioca pearls, its Mega Pearls are enormous grass jelly spheres. We can confirm that attempting to eat these will undoubtedly bring out your inner child.
An entire range of peach-infused beverages is now available, featuring Peach Oolong Tea, Mango Peach Oolong Tea, Peach Oolong Milk Tea, and a nod to its signature Bang Bang Milk Tea, the Bang Bang Peach Oolong Tea Latte.

Its efforts in spreading positivity go far beyond its Bru-niverse, Mega Pearls, and range of new flavours. CEO and founder of Loob Holding, Bryan Loo, is committed to driving tangible change in the Malaysian F&B industry, both in terms of sentiment and sustainability.

Celebrating the Malaysian spirit of unity is the beating heart of the brand. Tealive introduced its “liquid positivity” to the public with an experiential event held at Bukit Bintang’s Lot 10. Guests had the chance to personalise their own Tealive thermoses, playfully coined Yumblers, that each came with exclusive Tealive sticker packs and are available at selected Tealive Plus outlets. Interactive games that revolved around The Bru-niverse also brought guests together in the name of bubble tea.

The renowned beverage chain has begun a store-wide plastic ban, slowly phasing out single-use plastic from its stores across the country. Bubble tea aficionados will notice that its bubble teas are now housed in paper cups and spotlight eco-friendly straws. In time, the chain will soon begin sourcing tapioca for its pearls from local farms in hopes of fostering a truly local supply chain and platforming homegrown produce.
Supporting the Malaysian F&B industry is at the forefront of Tealive’s efforts to combat negativity, with Loo stating, “We’re a testimony that Malaysians can create world-class products. We hope we’re inspiring Malaysians to have positive outlooks, emotions, and experiences.”
