Crafted in one of the most challenging years for viticulture, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 defies the odds with an exceptional blend that embodies both resilience and refinement

The undeniable effects of climate change are reshaping industries worldwide, from rising global temperatures to the loss of biodiversity and increasingly extreme weather patterns. Among those most visibly affected is the winemaking industry, where the changing climate has dramatically altered the viticulture landscape in France, impacting both production and quality. Yet, in the face of such adversity, innovation and resilience have given rise to extraordinary results.

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 is a testament to resilience in severe challenges. The year was anything but ordinary—generally mild, yet punctuated by extreme weather shifts. While winter was relatively average and spring started on a cool note, a prolonged drought took hold from mid-spring through much of the summer, bringing soaring temperatures. August 2015 went down in history as the hottest August in 45 years.

The vintage was among the early harvests, kicking off in early September. At Dom Pérignon, the harvest began on September 7, just after the first ripe clusters were picked elsewhere in Champagne. The pinot noir grapes were exceptional—ripe, robust, and well-structured, yielding a wine that was at once full-bodied and graceful. Chardonnay, however, struggled under harsh conditions that required meticulous selection. The result is a wine of elegant complexity, both invigorating and calming.

On the nose, the wine initially reveals darker, roasted tones with hints of cacao. But as it breathes, it blossoms—like a bouquet of linden leaves, jasmine, and peony—infused with warming spices such as anise and cardamom. Subtle notes of chlorophyll, orange zest, and green papaya add a fresh vegetal and fruity layer.

The palate experience is expansive, spreading gently yet generously across the tongue. The wine is tactile, caressing the palate with softness and intensity. Juicy peach and nectarine notes embrace the bittersweet hints of citrus and gentian, offering a beautifully sculpted, multidimensional taste.
