Reminiscent of the speakeasies of the Roaring Twenties, Alibi is not a place one simply walks into, but rather a mirage. Discerning patrons must first pass through an easy-to-miss passage that requires a passcode, which regularly changes. Once inside, one will discover a warm, sophisticated hideaway half-cloaked in elegant darkness, only softly illuminated by backlit lights and lamps. Find your spot for the evening, whether somewhere in the corner booths or at a stool by the bar—and enjoy it with either the company you’ve brought or the ones you’ll encounter as the night goes on.

The spectacle that Alibi offers extends into its menu. Their expertly crafted cocktails are named in reference to this prosperous era, as well as the looming, bittersweet shadow of Prohibition. Drinks that come to mind are Bonnie and Clyde: a tangy mix of Jim Beam whisky, citrus and a smoked red wine reduction, and Joe Bananas (named after the infamous mobster), a dehydrated banana infused with Very Old Captain Rum, banana oleo, saline and bitters. Be sure to also try their specialities: The Peat, Meat & Greet, a soulful concoction of brown buttered bourbon, Islay whisky, bacon and bitters, as well as the Sunset Strip, made up of a London Dry gin, grapefruit, oleo saccharum and rose air.

Alibi’s unique tipples are matched by their extensive selection of bar bites.
