From the Petronas Towers to hidden pockets of green, Dewar’s invites guests to rediscover Kuala Lumpur from above and to toast that newfound perspective

When was the last time that you truly saw Kuala Lumpur not just from behind the wheel in traffic, but from above, where the city’s layers reveal themselves in ways both familiar and new?

That was the premise behind Dewar’s Discovery Flight, an experience that invited guests to quite literally see the city from a new perspective. Hosted aboard a helicopter, the experience offered a breathtaking aerial tour of Kuala Lumpur, turning a routine skyline into a living map of stories and hidden green spaces.

From the gleam of the Petronas Twin Towers to the surprising pockets of lush foliage tucked between neighbourhoods, the journey reminded us that perspective often determines what we see and what we appreciate. Along the way, guests were handed a “Discovery Passport”, which they could stamp as the flight traced landmarks below, a charming keepsake that added a sense of playful exploration to the experience.

The journey concluded, fittingly, with a drink: Rendang Nation, a whisky cocktail inspired by Malaysia’s most iconic dish. Balancing the spice and richness of rendang with the smooth character of Dewar’s 15 Year Old, it encapsulated the campaign’s theme, which was a taste of discovery grounded in familiarity yet elevated by imagination.

At the heart of this journey was Dewar’s 15, a whisky matured for at least fifteen years before spending an additional six months in oak casks. Its golden amber hue and layered aromas—vanilla, melon, banana, apple, and a whisper of orange blossom—speak of craftsmanship and care. On the palate, it’s smooth, rounded, and quietly confident: the kind of whisky that doesn’t need to announce itself to be remembered.
