The awards unfolded over a celebratory evening, where over 200 wine experts and industry professionals gathered at Wynn Palace in Macau on April 24.

A lively opening ceremony kicked off the evening, honouring China’s top wineries with 36 trophies. Celebrations continued with an ambitious 20-hands (10 chef-collaboration) feast led by ten of Wynn’s most acclaimed chefs, including Tam Kwok Fung of Chef Tam’s Seasons, Hironori Maeda of Mizumi, Kevin Zhu of Lakeview Palace and Henry Zhang of Drunken Fish, alongside the hotel’s top pastry chefs and bar directors, such as Cyril Dupis, Bob Tay and Mark Lloyd.

The multi-course collaboration spanned regional Chinese, Japanese and Western cuisines, paired with bottles from the Wynn Sommelier’s Choice collection, highlighting the capability of Chinese labels to stand alongside established global wine regions.

An intensive week of judging yielded the final winners’ list, which spotlights the increasingly varied landscape of Chinese viticulture.

The evening’s highest honour, Best Wine of China, was awarded to the Amethyard Petit Manseng Sweet White Wine 2024, a stunning Hebei vintage that stood out with a full-bodied structure and refreshing finish. The same wine also scored the Best of North China and Best Sweet Wine trophies. Amethyard is a premier estate founded in 2008 near the Great Wall of China and has been prized for championing premium varieties and nuanced terroirs.

Following the 2026 Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards, the celebration continued with a deeper dive into the future of Chinese terroir. On April 25, the Wynn Signature Dialogue: Beyond the Awards - Charting the Future forum discussed the long-term development of winemaking. At the same time, gold medal winners led guests through a walk-around tasting featuring top-tier Chinese wines. Post-ceremony events culminated in two dedicated wine-pairing dinners at Chef Tam’s Seasons and Lakeview Palace, each showcasing a curated selection of newly-awarded labels.
