Welcome to Foodie Finds! This is an article series by Tatler, chronicling where and what to order according to the food-obsessed.

I myself have never understood non-foodies. How can one not love flavours, spices, aromas and all the cultural nuances and memories that come with every bite? Dining is an experience meant to be savoured and is even more fun when shared with loved ones. Dining around a table means sharing, conversing, bonding and learning. A dish can tell you so much about a person, a culture, and a country. It speaks volumes of a nation's history and is an art-form on its own. Skilled hands are trained over years or are born out of pure passion and practice. Professional chefs and home cooks alike, from young stars to grandmothers, have been cooking up meals filled with emotion and have truly made us foodies, happy.

Through Foodie Finds, we ask our epicurean friends to share their favourites. In this feature, we tackle takeout and delivery. Hear what food blogger and influencer Jin Perez-Go has to say. She shares her go-to shops for takeout here:

1. Artisan Cellar Door

@artisancellardoor

We are carnivores who love steak nights and shabu-shabu nights at home. Artisan Cellar’s Mayura Wagyu and recently launched Okan Wagyu are our go-to meats, both boast incredible flavour and buttery texture. They are available in a variety of cuts and whichever kind you choose, I guarantee it will be hard to go back to eating regular beef. Artisan Cellar also carries Joselito, one of the best brands for jamon iberico de bellota, and a great selection of wines. My favourites are: Mayura wagyu and Okan wagyu M6-7 ribeye for steaks; Mayura yakiniku cut for hotpot; Mayura wagyu burger; Joselito Jamon Vintage; and different wines for different occasions.

My husband has a die-hard Chinese stomach and cooking good Chinese food is one skill I have yet to master. Until then, we rely on the experts at East Ocean for authentic, lip-smacking dishes that bring warmth and comfort to our bodies and souls. Some of my go-to’s are: braised goose web in abalone sauce; soy pigeon; chicken feet; steamed soft shell crabs; steamed shad fish with Chinese ham, razor clams with vermicelli; salted egg abalone and crab rice.

3. Dough and Grocer

They have made our quarantine lives much more enjoyable by making available to us many of the food items we miss while travel is not yet possible. Dough & Grocer brings us closer to the UK with its homemade Echiré scones paired with English clotted cream, to Italy with its cured meats and truffle selection, and transports us to France with its cheeses, foie gras and duck rillettes, Comice pears, and they even have French celery!

My favourites are: cheeses like Epoisses, Brie de Meaux, Mont d’Or, Livarot, Petit Camembert; L&L Plaquette butters in seaweed, white truffle, garlic and herbs; homemade Echiré scones and clotted cream; and my ultimate favourite Bijin Nabe collagen broth that we enjoy as soup or hotpot broth.

4. Little Butter

I have been a fan of Cathy Choi ever since her Brown Butter days. With work experience in Wynn Macao, Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, Joel Robuchon au Dome, and Pierre Herme Macau, her desserts are a completely different league, using only premium ingredients and executed in elegant and flawless technique. Her desserts give me a kind of joy no other food can bring. Every bite is a taste of heaven.

Some of my favourites are: tiramisu; coconut pandan kaya cake; orange loaf; and her holiday financiers. Actually every single item on her menu!

I’ve always loved Chele’s food and admired his passion for creating truly exceptional dishes using local and sustainable ingredients. Our meals at Gallery have always been memorable and his Gallery at Home menu does not take away the specialness of his dishes even when we enjoy them straight out of their takeout containers. From execution to packaging, presentation and taste, everything is a five-star experience.

Favourites: Black bombs, sopa de marisco, mackerel parrilla, cochinillo, arroz caldoso de cangrejo, and Basque burnt cheesecake from his newest venture, Chef Chele’s Kitchen.
