Terraz Bistro and Meetings by the Raintree group of restaurants creates a dynamic duo of great food and perfect events place with its powerhouse dining concept
DESPITE the nonstop blossoming of dining destinations in the city, the well-known Raintree group of restaurants has been brave enough to mark the second quarter of the year with another gastronomic blast to entice the curiosity of both foodies and corporate professionals. Terraz Bistro and Meetings is the next big thing in the casual dining scene.
Located at the GOLD LEED-rated Zuellig Building in Makati City, the newly opened restaurant paints a beautiful portrait of a modern and minimalist Filipino venue for posh gatherings. Right at the moment of stepping out the elevator, a well-lit atmosphere welcomes you with the charming and soft rays of natural sunlight illuminating the glass walls, adding to the glamorous feel of the place. It covers the whole third floor of the retail pavilion in the luxurious building. The elegant furnishings, which are dominated with contemporary patterns inspired by elements of nature and also embellished with nice steel-type hanging lamps, suggest an overall cosy vibe. Mutually designed for both all-day dining and private functions from mornings to evenings, designated rooms that could accommodate up to 36 people are available for advanced bookings.
More than the classy interiors, the food is excellent. With the skillful hands of the executive chef Arnold Gozon, whose brilliant culinary creations he gained from his experience in various food and beverage teams of hotels, come through in a a stellar menu of Asian and Western fusions, highlighting a modernised cuisine.
Asia Tatler Dining Philippines had the opportunity to indulge in the sumptuous treats during an intimate lunch on June 17. For appetiser, there was a refreshing and sinful combination of Spinach and Double Smoked Salmon Salad that came with a sunny side-up egg, Malagos pecorino, ranch dressing, and sunflower seeds. The US Beef Salpicao Skewers were a sure hit to the taste buds of carnivores. For pasta, the Tagliatelle in Seafood Cream was a right choice for a satisfying meal. Last but not least was the Steak Frites, succulent and tender - featuring a Australian Rib-Eye and three kinds of dips, wild arugula, and cherry tomato salad.
Desserts are limited but decadent, especially the Tiramisu. Terraz also takes pride in its well-chosen and reasonably priced wines, beers, cocktail drinks, and even coolers. To those who enjoy an occasional drink or two, take note of the happy hour at 4:00 pm onwards with bottomless promotions of sangria and some buy-one take-one deals for beers.
Championed with a stunning spot and a nice food selection, Terraz has justified its restaurant name. Experience either one or both of the signature offerings of Terraz [be it the bistro type or the meeting place] and make it one of your top picks from now on.
