Complementing its alluring atmosphere is Yantra’s new menu. Curated by Indian culinary historian Pritha Sen and executed by executive chef Pinaki Ray, the new menu puts the spotlight on authentic time-honoured recipes. One of India’s leading food historians, Sen has brought her skills as a culinary revivalist to Yantra with her collection of regional recipes sourced from various home kitchens around India.

Its a la carte menu draws inspiration from authentic Indian flavours spanning from ethereal Kashmir to the lush southern coastlines. One of these is the Taka Luchi Alu Dum, a classic Kolkata delicacy of flaky bread fried until crispy and topped with aromatic spicy baby potatoes bathed in a sweet and sour gravy.

Another highlight from the menu is the Kong Shop chicken, a rustic chicken dish that comprises juicy morsels of chicken marinated in a mix of black sesame seeds, garlic, and chillies. It’s cooked on a binchotan, resulting in tender flesh with a crisp and smoky exterior.

When it comes to mains, you can’t go wrong with the Hyderbadi Murg Biriyani, a classic biriyani of Hyderabad that features fork-tender bone-in chicken and basmati rice mixed with aromatic spices and cooked in a handi (earthen pot). The dish showcases a wonderful medley of aromatic Indian spices, succulent chicken and fragrant rice.

The main pairs perfectly with the Haleem Rashmi, a stew-like dish made of meat, spices, lentils, wheat and barley. While this dish typically uses mutton, beef or chicken, Yantra’s version replaces meat with jackfruit that has been slow cooked until tender.

Desserts are just as delectable, with options like the Bhapa Doi, a treat of steamed yogurt, wildflower treacle, mahua flower and fresh berries. Rich and flavourful, the dessert offers a balance of sweet from the treacle and sour from the yogurt.

With its vibrant space and mouth-watering dishes, we are certain that dining at Yantra will be a delightsome experience.
