La Strada returns to the dining scene as a trattoria-style restaurant, with wood panels, green awnings, and dark colonial shutters making a rustic nod towards Tuscany.

While the Les Amis group closed the chapter on Annam Vietnamese Restaurant, they’ve resurrected La Strada in the space formerly occupied by the former. La Strada returns to the dining scene as a trattoria-style restaurant, with wood panels, green awnings, and dark colonial shutters making a rustic nod towards Tuscany. Expect to find fuss-free, Italian cuisine on the plate.

The portions are hearty and its set lunch, pegged at $28 for three courses, is excellent value for money. Its close proximity to several Les Amis group brands has its advantages too. Here, you get to choose from a comprehensive Italian wine list bolstered by labels from neighbouring Caveau Wine Bar.

Insalata Caprese features a generous serving of stringy burrata sided by slices of momotaro tomatoes while the insalata polpo gets our vote for its tender, smoky, slices of octopus. A classic carbonara features homemade spaghetti as the star, crisp strips of prosciutto, and a rich truffle butter sauce. Veal loin, masterfully roasted and topped with mushroom sauce is excellent too.
