14 South Lane
From broccoli lattes, to tofu scramble on toast, 14 South Lane is a spacious cafe by HKU station that serves a plant-forward menu—the entire drinks menu is vegan, while the food menu is 80 per cent plant-based. The all-day menu includes everything from a hearty pumpkin chocolate quinoa pancake, avocado chilli fried egg on sourdough, to larger grain bowls such as the Marrakech, which comes with pita bread, falafel and hummus.
A lighter breakfast set menu is also available every day from 8am to 11am where customers can pair their choice of egg or tofu scramble, with toppings including smoked Norweigian salmon, Italian Cotto ham, and avocado and rocket on a piece of sourdough toast. The set also comes with a drink of choice such as black or white coffee, drip bag coffee or tea.

Known for their killer happy hour deals, Mr. Wolf also has an extensive food menu that’s often overlooked. Their breakfast menu, which is available from 7am to midday on weekdays and 7am to 4pm on weekends, is filled with brunch classics, indulgent treats as well as good-for-your-health plates.
Keep it simple by ordering eggs on toast or the smashed avocado toast with poached egg and feta. For something heavier, try the Shakshuka, which comes with toasted sourdough and two poached eggs in a spiced tomato broth; the Breakfast Bowl, with poached eggs, halloumi, quinoa, hummus, kale, avocado and hazelnut; or the Egyptian Eggs, served with Turkish bread, beetroot puree, avocado, rocket, feta cheese, pistachio and a poached egg.

Grain Of Salt
Opened by registered dietician Tiffany Shek at the beginning of the year, Grain Of Salt is a nutrition-forward wellness cafe that promotes healthy eating. The all-day menu includes Shek’s spin on breakfast classics such as the avocado toast. White bread is replaced with high-fibre wholewheat sourdough bread, while butter is replaced with shallots, mustard sauce and tamari for flavour.
Other favourites include the Green, Eggs and No Ham—made with poached egg, sauteed broccolini, spinach, carrot hummus on sourdough; and the Chia-up Pudding. For drinks, try the beetroot cacao latte, or The Hulk, a green smoothie blended with kale, romaine, celery, banana, cucumber, ginger and hemp seed.
