‘Tis the season to be merry as Christmas brings an endless bout of fun parties, plenty of mulled wines and gourmet feasts to indulge in across the city. With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s time to start planning and make up for missing out on last year’s festivities with visits to Hong Kong’s best restaurants for a memorable Christmas celebration.

As one of the world’s most exciting dining destinations, Hong Kong has no shortage of great food options to try, and it’s evident in those top-notch festive menus that showcase a combination of classic recipes with quality ingredients and culinary traditions from different countries.

Ahead, we’ve compiled a list of the best Christmas lunches and dinners to book in Hong Kong this season. Whether you’re looking for classic dishes such as roasted turkey and Christmas pudding, or a festive meal with a Cantonese twist, there’s something for every palate.

1. Tosca Di Angelo

Head to Tosca Di Angelo for an alternative festive feast this Christmas. Perched atop the 102nd floor of the ICC inside of The Ritz-Carlton, the Michelin-starred restaurant promises fine Italian cuisine in an opulent setting with harbour views, where chef Angelo Agliano will be serving up special menus to get you in the holiday spirit.

In addition to offering a four-course lunch menu accompanied by a selection of free-flow drinks options, the restaurant also touts an eight-course set dinner featuring decadent dishes such as Kaluga caviar with hamachi, risotto with scallops, and hazelnut veal ravioli with white truffle. With its spectacular harbour views and excellent service—what’s not to love?

When: The lunch and dinner menus are available on December 24 and 25.

2. Tin Lung Heen

This Michelin-starred establishment at The Ritz-Carlton may impress with its stylish interiors and sweeping harbour views at first, but it’s their consistently well-executed Cantonese dishes that keep hungry diners coming back for more.

On Christmas Eve, the restaurant will be serving up a new six-course menu. Notable dishes include deep-fried crab shell filled with crab meant and onion, baked tiger prawn stuffed with minced shrimp in soup, as well as braised glutinous rice with minced garoupa. Desserts including double-boiled milk with honey locust fruit and baked egg custard tart will be served as well. 

When: The dinner menu is available on December 24.

3. Caprice

Luxurious and elegant, what better to celebrate Christmas this year than at Caprice at Four Seasons Hong Kong? On Christmas Eve, the three Michelin-starred French restaurant will be offering an indulgent eight-course dinner meticulously prepared by chef de cuisine Guillaume Galliot, which features delights including Brittany scallop with Oscietra caviar; foie gras terrine; as well as black truffle and artichoke.

While on Christmas Day, guests can enjoy another equally extravagant eight-course menu—beginning with Brittany sea urchin and crab soup, and followed by a main of roasted duck. A selection of cheeses and dainty desserts including Christmas log cake will be served to round off the meal.

When: The two menus are available on December 24 and December 25, 2021 respectively.

4. Lung King Heen

For a delicious Christmas meal with a Cantonese twist, you can’t go wrong with Lung King Heen. This year, the three-Michelin starred establishment is rolling out two different menus for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, where guests can look forward to a variety of classic Chinese delicacies prepared with premium ingredients and exemplary cooking techniques.

Highlights of the menus include marinated jellyfish and sliced geoduck; braised bird’s nest broth with lobster and tofu; braised whole South African abalone with goose web; as well as fried puntalette with diced goose in XO chilli sauce.

When: The two menus are available on December 24 and December 25, 2021 respectively.

5. 181 Fortnum & Mason

181 Fortnum & Mason at Victoria Dockside is the destination for sophisticated gastronauts this Christmas. Offering an opulent take on British tradition, the restaurant’s menu is given a festive update with new dishes featuring quality ingredients to delight your taste buds. Highlights include chicken liver parfait with onion brioche; sharing main dishes such as glazed Norfolk Bronze turkey with all the trimmings and Cote de Boeuf; as well as signature desserts such as Christmas pudding, and apple and blueberry crumble—all served with beautiful harbour views as your backdrop.

6. Feather & Bone

Known for its gourmet cheeses and premium meats, Feather & Bone welcomes guests to celebrate the most joyful time of the year with two new dine-in menus.

The Christmas Sharing Menu offers an impressive mix of classic festive delicacies and the restaurant’s most popular dishes, which begins with starters such as charred baguette, house special smoked brisket pastrami and a salumi and prosciutto board, followed by the classic roast turkey roulade featuring fig and cinnamon stuffing. The feast then ends with desserts of Christmas pudding and eggnog custard, alongside a premium selection of cheese and crackers. A vegetarian version of the sharing menu is also available.

When: Both sharing menus are available from November 15 to December 25. Feather & Bone accepts reservations between November 15 and December 19, where all bookings must be made three days in advance for a minimum of four guests. Walk-ins of all group sizes will be welcomed from December 20-25.

Price: Both menus are priced at HK$598 per person (which includes a glass of mulled wine) and HK$299 per person for children aged 12 and below.

7. Chaiwala

Celebrate Christmas the Indian way with delectable food offerings at Chiwala! Choose from the festive brunch menu or the dinner tasting menu, both of which features signature dishes including pani puri with jal-jeera and Malabar scallops. The festive feast continues with a selection of mouthwatering tandoori meats and curries accompanied with fresh naan bread.

Lastly, fried milk dumplings with South Asian spice in sugar syrup, as well as saffron ice cream will be served to complete your meal.

When: The brunch menu is available from 11:30 to 5:30 pm on December 25 and 26, while the dinner menu is available from 6:00 pm onwards on December 24 and 25.

8. Chilli Fagara

This Christmas, Sichuan mainstay Chilli Fagara has created a nine-course menu that would surprise regulars of traditional western restaurants. Perfect for spicy food lovers who’re looking to enjoy a memorable festive dining experience, the menu includes a delectable spread of classic Sichuan dishes crafted with contemporary twists.

Guests will start with appetisers on sharing plates such as baked clams with fresh green peppercorn and lettuce wraps with Sichuan preserved sausages, before feasting on the hot and sour soup with fresh seafood. Next up, hearty mains such as stir-fried lobster with vermicelli in chilli sauce, crispy fried lamb shank, and crab meat and egg white fried rice with premium truffle sauce will be served. Save room for dessert as their candied sugar cage with fiery chilli chocolate ice cream, and the house special mulled wine infused with Sichuan peppercorn are the perfect way to cap off your meal.

When: The nine-course menu is available from November 22 to January 1, 2022, for a minimum of two persons. Guests are required to make a reservation two days in advance.

9. Felix

For a romantic meal that will truly impress your loved one, look no further than the special menu curated by The Peninsula’s Felix. On Christmas Eve, the fine dining restaurant is serving up a feast of modern European food to excite your palate and please your eyes. Expect exquisite dishes such as Irish razor clam salad, king crab leg with sea urchin, Kagoshima beef, and more.

10. Gaddi's

Celebrate Christmas Eve in style with Gaddi’s deluxe menu featuring the finest French food. Start things off with Brittany crab Kristal caviar, and pan-seared Périgord foie gras, then move on luscious main courses including the wild French turbot, and quail with smoked pork belly and truffle. For dessert, there are the cute gingerbread biscuit and reindeer treat with bitter orange jam and vanilla ice cream.

11. Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is pulling out all the stops this Christmas with a wide selection of menus to spoil you with top-notch dining experiences.

All the six restaurants and bars of this luxury hotel will be participating in the holiday campaign—including MO Bar, which offers festive brunch with free-flow festive cocktails and drinks; Amber, where guests can enjoy four- or eight-course lunches and dinners; as well as SOMM that features lunches and dinners for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The stylish speakeasy PDT will also be offering a special turkey dinner, which comes with a 90-minute free flow of wines for the ultimate indulgence.

12. Osteria Marzia

Osteria Marzia is the go-to spot for locals looking for quality Italian eats, and its festive offering is not to be missed. Head here on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for a decadent feast of Italian coastal fare—which kicks off with hamachi, mussels and lumache, and followed by satisfying pasta dishes and crispy amadai. Your dinner will end with an exquisite dessert—black forest cake.

13. Mandarin Grill + Bar

Known for its premium modern European cuisine and grill classics, Mandarin Grill + Bar has plenty in store this festive season. Aside from roast menus, which feature a tempting selection of dishes such as A5 wagyu steak tartare and roasted organic turkey with stuffing, the Michelin-starred establishment is also offering a dinner menu that guarantees a memorable celebration. Guests can look forward to dishes such as Gillardeau oysters, pan-seared and glazed Brittany Turbot, and venison wellington. A vegetarian version of the dinner menu is also available.

Located in the Star Street Precinct, this charming bistro is treating hungry diners to divine Vietnamese food on Christmas Eve. Gather your friends and family for a joyous meal at Le Garcon Saigon, and try the limited-time menu that’s packed with fresh seafood and vibrant Vietnamese flavours. 15. Tokyolima

With its welcoming atmosphere and impressive Nikkei food offerings, Tokyolima is a great place to enjoy a not-so-typical Christmas celebration. Their new festive menu is perfect for a family-style sharing meal with a large group, which feature tempting dishes such as fried chicken, spicy hamachi, tacu tacu (tir-fried snow beans, onion, red and yellow peppers, chimichurri) and stuffed spatchcock. Guests will also be able to enjoy desserts including the signature Oye Papi chocolate mousse and gluten-free chocolate and almond cake.

Chinese fine dining hot spot T’ang Court is presenting a new luxurious dinner menu to make your celebration an exceptional one. Featuring expertly prepared Cantonese cuisine that’s just as attractive as the restaurant’s elegant interiors, the menu offers everything from the signature baked stuff crab shell, to braised South Africa abalone and stewed lobster with Inaniwa noodles in chicken broth. 17. Bostonian Seafood & Grill

If you love seafood and are looking to enjoy an indulgent dining experience with friends this Christmas, Bostonian Seafood & Grill is the ideal destination for you. Known for its premium seafood offerings served in a laidback setting, the restaurant has put together a seasonal brunch menu to celebrate the occasion.

Dig into the signature lobster bisque, scallops, oysters and pan-fried foie gras, before sampling main dishes like the roasted ribeye and roasted turkey. Make sure to save some space for the baked goods and desserts, too!

The restaurant will be offering a special Christmas set dinner this year as well, serving up an enticing array of dishes including crispy langoustine and pan-fried grouper, accompanied by a choice between two mains: char-grilled U.S. tenderloin or roasted turkey.

When: The brunch menu is available on December 24-27 and on January 1, 2022. The dinner menu is available on December 24-26.

18. Ask for Alonzo Soho

Want a Christmas feast to remember? Ask for Alonzo’s new branch in Soho with hearty Italian food offerings is sure to add even more holiday cheer to your celebration. Guests are welcome to visit for lunch or dinner during the festive season, and sample their new set menus featuring everything from Piedmont beef ravioli with truffle, to citrus marinated yellowtail and red snapper fillet with green asparagus. Vegetarians will be also pleased to hear that the restaurant has also rolled out a new veggie menu, alongside free-flow drinks packages.

19. Sing Yin

Offering contemporary takes on Cantonese classics, Sing Yin at W Hong Kong is a great shout for a fresh twist on Christmas dining.

Their new five-course menu includes prawn and fresh fruit salad with crispy crab claw, and braised pumpkin soup with bird’s nest and seafood to start, followed by satisfying main dishes including pan-fried garoupa fillet, sautéed boneless chicken in black truffle sauce, as well as pan-fried scallop with angel hair noodles. For dessert, there’s crème brûlee with crispy strawberry fritter.

On a side note, the hotel does an impressive takeaway set that’s perfect for traditionalists. Aside from the slow-roasted turkey which can feed 8-10 people, the menu can also be ordered with other meat options including wagyu beef picanha, spiced honey-glazed French bone-in Gammon ham, lamb leg, as well as roasted pork belly accompanied by delicious side dishes and desserts to share.

20. Petrus

Known for its excellent service and elegant setting, French fine-dining restaurant Petrus at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong is serving up an eight-course feast this Yuletide season. The dinner menu promises a top-notch dining experience, which features an array of seasonal delicacies carefully prepared by chef Uwe Opocensky.

It begins with Norwegian king crab and foie gras, followed by Atlantic seabass with caviar, and succulent Brandt beef calotte. Save some space for the chocolate and ginger flavoured special dessert.

21. Bacchus

If your stomach is rumbling for an unconventional Christmas meal, you may want to book a table at Bacchus—one of the city’s newest, trendiest dining destinations. Boasting an ultra-extensive wine collection of over 800 labels from around the world, this elegant establishment is focused on modern Asian-influenced French cuisine and top-notch food-and-wine pairings.

On Christmas Eve, Bacchus will be serving up an innovative menu of traditional French dishes with an Asian touch, where guests can look forward to dishes including marbling duck foie gras, lobster confit and Baeri caviar, Australian wagyu beef wellington, and many more.

22. The Murray Hong Kong

Fancy a luxury brunch experience complete with gourmet food options and elegant ambience? Head to The Tai Pan and Garden Lounge at The Murray. In celebration of Christmas, the two restaurants will be offering a new brunch menu where guests can feast on a sumptuous spread of salads, smoked seafood, meats and made-to-order main dishes such as butternut squash risotto, Iberico pork belly and miso glazed cod fish.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, guests will be able to enjoy The Tai Pan’s seasonal dinner menu (which is also available at the Garden Lounge and the Beer Garden), with impressive dishes such as duck foie gras terrine, Australian striploin, and roasted turkey on offer.

23. L’Envol

With its floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceiling and luxurious touches of gold and marbles, L’Envol at St. Regis Hong Kong is certainly a scenic spot for a festive feast.

This Christmas, the two-Michelin-starred French restaurant is offering limited-time menus that feature innovative dishes made with premium seasonal ingredients and produce from Europe and Asia that will please even the most discerning palate. Highlights of the menus include Ardeche chestnut veloute soup, sliced smoked duck and white truffle from Alba.

24. Arbor

Since opening its doors in 2018, Arbor has proved a popular hit with diners and critics alike. Famous for its unique Nordic-Japanese cuisine, the two-Michelin-starred establishment is offering new lunch and dinner menus specially prepared by chef-owner Eric Raty this Christmas.

Guests can look forward to a wide selection of innovative dishes featuring premium Japanese ingredients, such as shima aji, king crab, pike roe, tuna, wagyu beef, and more. There’s also a well-curated wine list to complement your meal.

25. Aqua

Not a fan of the classic Christmas roast? Gather your friends and head to Aqua, which just completed a major move to new confines in H Zentre, to feast on Italian and Japanese delicacies this festive season. Aqua’s new five-course menu invites guests to enjoy a dinner with gorgeous views of Hong Kong’s skyline, where stellar dishes such as grilled wagyu beef sirloin with charcoal asparagus, and Christmas bauble dessert with preserved fruit parfait and hazelnut custard will be served. The restaurant will also present a new limited-time brunch menu during the holidays, offering you a feast to remember.

If you want to try out some unique festive cocktails, the new limited-edition Christmas Kiss drink (HK$148) by Aqua Spirit is not to be missed. It’s prepared with Hennessy V.S.O.P, whole egg and cardamom and topped with cranberries, to offer an exquisite taste that cocktail lovers would enjoy.
