The renowned Malaysian celebrity chef recently unveiled his menu for the airline's Business Class passengers

Malaysia's very own Chef Wan, also known as Datuk Redzuwan Ismail, has crafted a Malaysian menu for Qatar Airways. To be available on its Business Class aboard its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Doha from July 2022 onwards, this special collaboration is in conjunction with the airline's 25th anniversary.

Considering Qatar Airway won the Skytrax World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering 2021, this project is a huge deal for the Malaysian chef. Chef Wan's menu highlights Malaysian flavours and traditional Malay cooking techniques. It starts with a trio of appetisers, namely Poached Prawns and Mango Salad With Glass Noodles, Duo Pomelo Salad, and Seared Scallop and Tuna With Papaya Salad.

The main course is a mouth-watering choice of Charcoal-Grilled Fish Fillet With Spicy Portuguese Sauce served with Lemuni Rice, Lamb Kuzi with Terengganu-Style Rice Cashew Nut and Acah Buah, or Chicken Percik With Lemon Rice Pilaf.

The meal ends on a sweet note with one of Malaysia's most beloved snacks, goreng pisang (fried banana fritters) but interpreted as Deep Fried Caramel Banana by Chef Wan. This will be served as part of the sweet platter that also includes Mango Crème Brûlée.

Chef Wan is thrilled for the opportunity to showcase the beauty of Malaysian food to the world. "We've taken great care to present Malaysian cuisine on a global platform, and I hope the dishes will give passengers a lasting memory of Malaysia. I’m also glad to have the chance to pay homage to traditional Malaysian cuisine and share the Malaysian food culture that I hold so dear to my heart to international travellers.”
