Hint: you can spot them in episode eight of the highly addictive series

Watching Korean dramas has become a well-loved activity by plenty of Singaporeans from various age groups. So it comes as no surprise that the latest South Korean series, Little Women, has arguably been one of Netflix’s most positively received releases this month.

But unlike other K-dramas, there is something in store for Singapore fans—cameos by our local celebrities. And it seems like this caught almost everyone by surprise.

On September 25, episode eight aired and local fans were in for a treat when they spotted the iconic Singapore skyline as well as homegrown actors Adrian Pang and Joshua Tan.

The drama, which is loosely adapted from Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel of the same name, features some scenes that were set in Singapore.

In the episode, viewers see actress Kim Go Eun’s character, Oh In-joo, arriving in Singapore at night as the camera pans towards views of the Marina Bay skyline.

Oh then arrives at The Fullerton Hotel, one of the country's historic landmarks, where she is greeted by the hotel manager who is played by veteran Singaporean actor Adrian Pang. The actor is well regarded in both the film and theatre circles locally and currently stars as Singapore’s former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew in The LKY Musical, staged by the Singapore Repertory Theatre.

Pang leads Kim’s character around the hotel where eagle-eyed viewers also spotted Singaporean actor Joshua Tan playing the role of a hotel receptionist.

But that's not all. Other appearances include actress Bridget Fernandez from the Channel 5 drama Tanglin as a hotel employee, actor Ebi Shankara from Channel 5 drama Kin as a waiter, actor and host Joshua Lim and model Regina Lim as employees at an orchid auction as well as actors Benjamin Josiah Tan and Aaron Charles Mossadeg as security guards.

Besides the local actors, Little Women also shows Kim’s character fleeing a scene through our reliable public transportation. She goes from Macpherson MRT station to Stadium MRT station and finally to Expo station near Changi before walking towards Fullerton Bay Hotel. She is also seen walking along Clarke Quay and Gardens by the Bay, before reaching her final destination at a condominium that is supposedly at Keppel Bay.

All that in one episode. Now, time to rewatch this eventful episode just for the fun of it. Who’s with us?
