Potterheads, rejoice! The new store in New York has the largest collection of 'Harry Potter' and 'Fantastic Beasts' merchandise

Great news for Potterheads: the first-ever Harry Potter flagship store has finally opened its doors in New York City after a long delay due to Covid-19. The new store in 935 Broadway is home to the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts merchandise in the muggle world.

Called Harry Potter New York, the store is decked in breathtaking design, inspired by the Wizarding World from top to bottom. Fans can not only indulge in all the exclusive merchandise but also experience and admire the exquisite craftsmanship, hand-crated props and exciting interactive elements.

Spanning three floors and boasting over 21,000 square feet of space, the store features 15 different themed areas, each of which are carefully crafted and designed to bring the Wizarding World to the muggle world. Upon entering the store, customers will pass under a giant model of Fawkes the Phoenix gazing from the ceiling. This model was specifically created for the New York store by a team of prop-making specialists.

Inside the store, customers are encouraged to strike their best post at the numerous photo spots including a London phone box to recreate the experience of transporting themselves into the Ministry of Magic. You might not have gotten your Hogwarts admission letter when you were 11 but here, you get the chance to use the interactive wand table to pick up a wand and put it to the test, just like your favourite Harry Potter character.  Those looking for more trivia on the Wizarding World can look for a number of Enchanted Keys throughout the store that unlock exclusive behind-the-scenes facts, figures and videos.

Customers can also try out two immersive multiplayer virtual reality experiences which are location-based, allowing real-time interactive exploration of the Wizarding World. Head over to "Chaos at Hogwarts" to step into a magic journey at the beloved school while "Wizards Take Flight" prepares customers to fly on brooms for a battle against Death Eaters.

Besides these exciting experiences, customers are spoiled for choice at the gifts they can buy here. The Personalisation Area allows customers to bring some of their favourite items to life including engraving a wand, embossing a journal or embroidering a House robe—Griffydor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin—with their name.

The Wizarding World isn't complete without all the treats too. Customers can browse for Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans in an area inspired by the Honeydukes. Afterwards, drop under the Dirigible Plum tree, a special area where you can find some of your favourite magical feature soft toys.

Don't miss out on the world's only Butterbeer Bar serving the cult-favourite Butterbeer and Butterbeer ice cream. You can also geek out at the sight of the majestic Griffin usually found guarding Dumbledore's office as it rotates around the store's grand main atrium.

From here, you can browse through the Wand Shop's collection of over 50 wands inspired by the characters, locations and props from the Wizarding World including the exclusive Golden Snitch wand.

The store is the home of America's only House of MinaLima, the graphic design duo who worked on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies. They designed a gallery and store showcasing all the graphic art of the Wizarding World including the Daily Prophet covers, Harry's Hogwarts acceptance letter and Quibbler.
