The travelling festival, which was born in 2010, will be held online for its 11th edition. It will be accessible in Asian countries such as Thailand and the Philippines from March 31 to April 4

If you have yet to finalise your movie plans for March 31 until April 4, consider viewing the highly-anticipated films that Moviemov Italian Film Fest will present for its 11th Edition. The event, which will be produced and organised by PlaytownToma Cultural Association, and directed by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli, will now be accessible in Asian countries such as Thailand and Philippines. 

Following the successes met in Manila, Bangkok, and Hanoi, which over the years have brought more than 200 films to Southeast Asia with over 150 guests, including Agostino Ferrente, Carolina Crescentini, Pippo Del Bono, Ferzan Ozpetek , Paola Minaccioni, Elda Ferri, Roberto Faenza, the Taviani Brothers, Marco Risi, Andrea Bosca, Claudio Cupellini, Salvatore Striano, Giuseppe Tornatore, Isabella Ragonese, and after the two online editions in the Philippines, the festival returns to its true Southeast Asian vocation.

For 2022, Moviemov's film ambassador will be actor Lorenzo Richelmy who is known for his role Marco Polo in the Netflix show of the same name. Below are some of the films audiences must watchout for:

TRIBUTE TO PIER PAOLO PASOLINI

  • Mamma Roma by P.P. Pasolini
  • La rabbia di Pasolini - Ipotesi di ricostruzione della versione originale del film by P.P. Pasolini and remade by Giuseppe Bertolucci

The screenings (free of charge and in the original language with English subtitles) will be accompanied as usual by talks with actors, directors and producers, among the artists who have already confirmed their presence. In addition to this year’s film ambassador, will be the actors– Antonia Truppo, Paolo Calabresi, Carlotta Antonelli, Anna Ferruzzo, and the directors– Hleb Papou and Renzo Carbonera.

Viewers will be in a real, albeit virtual, movie theatre, where they will be able to interact with the protagonists of the films thanks to a chatbox, by which students and the general audience will be able to comment and get insightful feedback.
