1,500 frontline workers will benefit from the two meals a day that Kim Lim and her fiancé will be giving out

Local entrepreneur and society darling Kim Lim and her fiancé, who is only known as LL, will be giving out meals to 1,500 frontline workers from November 6 to help cheer them on in their fight against the pandemic.

Lim, the daughter of Singaporean billionaire Peter Lim, is also speaking to  Singapore Airlines to find a way to provide flight tickets for foreign healthcare workers so they can return home and visit their loved ones. She is doing this through her social enterprise Kelhealth Group.

In an interview with 8days, Lim said, “Things have been tough for the frontliners and those invisible people we don’t see working hard in the background, like our cleaners or janitors. We want to remind them, through our love of food, that there are people out here who are cheering them on. We want to thank them for every effort they have put in.”

This is the first cause Lim is supporting with her fiancé after the pair announced their engagement through Instagram on September 30.

While Kim did not reveal how much money she was putting in to provide two meals a day for frontline workers, we do know that she will be collaborating with F&B company Fei Siong Group and will be sending out local food that she and her fiancé have personally enjoyed over the years.

This is also not the first time that Lim has made an effort to thank frontline workers. In fact, in the early days of the pandemic, Lim sent out care packages and food to healthcare workers.

“I truly admire (healthcare workers) for their courage and strength. To be on your feet all day, to tend to the needs of those who are feeling unwell, it can be tiring and mentally draining for both the frontline and unseen heroes,” she said.
