This Father’s day, we’re celebrating all the dads, including those who have never failed to make us laugh, cry, and roll our eyes at our TV screens.
Here are some of the most memorable fathers in film and shows:
Phil Dunphy
Phil Dunphy of Modern Family is arguably one of—if not the best—dad on TV. He's often optimistic and naturally funny even when he's not trying, yet knows how to handle complicated situations should the need arises. Although sometimes Phil can be too immersed in his silly shenanigans, he does it for his family’s wellbeing. The man does not have any hint of toxic masculinity.

Dill Penderghast
Easy A’s Dill Penderghast is the fun dad who’d get along with your friends. Not only is he open to any conversation (and we mean anything), but he has a humour that keeps off the pressure and awkwardness at bay, encouraging his children to open up and be their true selves.
Philip Banks
Philip Banks, otherwise known as Uncle Phil, might have been strict on Will, considering that he's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's antagonist, but that's only the man's way of keeping the kid on track. His role alone was iconic, making him an instant favourite when the show first came out.
